I have a 02, and was curious if anybody had ever removed the evap system and the LDP and figured out what has to be done to keep the CEL off?

There is another thread on this, same things apply. Look that one up.

the evap system on a 99 and a 01+ is completely different, 99s and down do not have a leak detection pump under the fusebox which everything runs through before going to the solenoid. I had already read that thread and have searched for this topic but havent found anybody that has done it on a 01+ truck without codes. Dave downing has ripped all of it out, but he lives with the CEL. I have emissions in my area, so i have to fool the computer if i am going to take it out.

I wasn't aware they were different. But wouldn't the resistor solve the CEL issue?

I was going to remove everything until I realized I have a LDP and my truck is a 2000.

i wasnt sure if 2000's had it or not, but i knew 99's down didnt

the resistor trick does not work for the 00-up trucks because of the leak detection pump which measures all the vacuum that goes to/from the solenoid and the throttle body.

We tried the resistor trick on Dave's truck once. Still gives you a CEL.

I on a '01 up, is removing the LDP going cause the PCM to pull fuel/timing, add fuel/timing, change the radio station etc., because it's not detecting anLDP?

I asked this before, but we were discussing earlier year EVAP systems..

it shouldnt, i havent heard of it doing any of that, it just gets a CEL. I have also tried the resistor trick, dosent work and also have just capped off the ldp and had it hooked up, also didnt work.
