Have an axle and housing laying around?

Can you measure the end of the axle flange to the face of the brake mounting plate? I need to get an exact measurement or as close as possible to see how much I can narrow the rear end. Want to cut off at least 1.5 off each side but can't be exact without that measurement. I can't measure mine without taking off the cover and taking the C-clips off.

I need the distance from the face of the axle flange to the face fo the drum brake bracket.

so you want from the outside of the axle the the inside of the backing plate

From the outside of the axle to the baking plate mount on the axle housing. The one welded on.
