Talked to the General Manager at the Summit Point Track and talked to him about the possiblity of doing a track day at his track. It would not be exclusive but it would still be loads of fun. The cost would be 225 (prepaid) for a full day of track time, well he said about (80 minutes of wheel time). You would also have an instructor to help improve your driving. This is open to any vehicle but making it a focus for Dakotas, I would bring the Jetta cause the truck is not good for this anymore. I told him probably fall, but depending on peoples reaction to the event we can see if he can fit us in some othertime if need be. So is there interest? Cost good? Let me know and we can go from there.

i think thats awesome that you set that up!... i have always wanted to get my truck on a road course... but the one thing that concerns me to the point of actually not doing it, are these factory brakes. There is no way they can handle a fast road course for more than maybe a lap at a time... mine are faded are semi aggressive street driving. What do you think about the issue?

I'd definitely be willing to go. I think we'd MAYBE get up to ~110-120mph in the straight.

I would upgrade to some hawk pads at least. Maybe some slotted rotors.

I wouldn't trust my truck on there. I rather go there for this: http://www.summitpointkart.com

If it's in the fall I'd be interested. I should have a miata by then.

I could see what it would cost for the carts for a full day rental. Those things look fast.

I don't think you'd want to race a kart all day long. They are physically demanding on the larger high speed tracks like this. I'm usually good for two or three sessions and call it quits. It's $25/session. The other option is "Kart til you puke" for $120. Def cheaper than $225. I planned on going once the weather got nicer.

That would be awesome. Let me post something on Div 2 since they are "somewhat close".
