I would like to nominate the following for Division 4 DRTC Representatives:
Alan Short (Grapejuice1998)
I am waiting to hear from Gene Rivers and Jim Neel to see if they want to run again.
Please post any other nominations by the end of the week. I would like to have people vote over the weekend so we can get everyone online for our meeting next week on the 18th. Please note that in order to be a Rep you must be a paid DRTC member and that there are two Representative positions per Division. Feel free to PM me with any questions that you may have.

What is involved with being a rep? Duties/Responsibilites?

Being a rep won't take much of your time. The occasional online meeting for about 1 hour, is about the only real obligation. Aside from that, you pretty much just promote the club to other people you meet and if a local has a problem with the club, you try to help them solve it, or kick the problem up to the exec board. Being a rep is so easy, many have done it and never lifted a finger.
Once in a while we would have a local get-together in the name of the club, then we sell whatever items the club has, plus take membership and renewal money. it's about the same as going to Fuddruckers, only you take a few minutes to promote the club and address any issues. No big deal.
Now if a meet ends up in your area, then the actual work would kick in.

Anyone heard from Gene or Jim lately? I'd like to start voting for D4, but don't want to leave those guys out if they are still interested.

I keep up with both of them.
Gene quit after the Houston meet and Jim quit about 2 yrs ago. Nobody acknowledged it though.
I have both of their cell numbers, if you'd like to call them and verify.

Didn't somebody show up at Atlanta? Maybe I'm confusing one of them with someone else. If they've bowed out, that's fine. I just didn't want to give them the boot without knowing what was going on. I sent emails to both of them at the addresses on the Exec page and have yet to hear back from them. I actually emailed all of the execs and only got one reply back. I just want to get things moving along.

Jim was there in Atlanta (he towed my R/T for me), but he told me he attempted to quit shortly thereafter and never received confirmation, nor did they attempt to replace him.
Geno got his feelings hurt after the Houston meet, because it ended up costing more than he had planned and someone essentially blamed it on him, so he quit. That was several years ago ('04?).
Like I said, I can provide their cell numbers if you need them.
PM me if you want them.
Good job moving forward with the club business.

I am thinking about doing this. Been slammed at work recently but getting some help soon so my time should be more available. I will pay up my membership now, just in case.
I am the meet moderator for our local Dakota club, so this could fit well with that. I would still need to be nominated though..... :D

Gene was active here (to include the exec subforum) back in 2008 when we revamped the website, he didn't say anything about not wanting to be a rep at that point. If he really gave up on wanting to be an active rep back in 2004 as you said, then someone needs to drive over to his house and give him a healthy kick in the ass with some steel toed boots. We could have elected someone else in his place a long time ago that was going to be a lot more active, instead of assuming he wandered off someplace with a big jug of mojo.

He was very limited in how much he participated here and for how long. He does still frequent the old Yahoo RTofftopic though.
Question(s):
Have you seen Gene "rep" for the DRTC since '04?
Has he attended any meetings, or participated in discussions on any level?

Yes, he did participate in a number of exec board threads during that timeframe (IIRC we even had him present for at least one of the exec chat sessions as well). He knew that he was tagged as one of the Div 4 execs in the forum & on the main site. He was active for a couple of months in early 2008, vanished for awhile, came back for a couple of months at the end of 2008, and then *poof*.

I was just going by what he told me. If he participated a little here and there, he didn't say.
At any rate, replacing him is best at this point.
Interesting conversation here.
Alan stands correct when he told you I resigned that position after the 04 meet. And have not paid dues since. None of that Executive Board ever removed me from the Board so I did stay in distant contact since Jim nor I was ever replaced (even though we asked to be replaced several times). I did not make any policy or decisions during that time.
Now........that is cleared up, where is this cock sucker with the "steel toed boots" that feels like a farmer? The address is 420 E Fayle, Baytown, Texas. Stop by anytime before dark. After that Sam answers the door.
The rest of you are always welcome to stop by when you are in town for a frosty cup of MOJO and a hearty off topic "fuck off"....
:goodluck:to the new Board members.

I know Sean didn't mean it that way Gene, he's really a decent guy. He meant that he didn't want to cross you off the Div 4 exec position without knowing you didn't want the position first.
Give Renee my best and stay off that Mojo!!
Oh...and FUCK OFF!!!
