Who'se got custom exhaust? Stock heat shields/hangars used?

I'm making an effort to clean up corrosion in the engine bay and under carriage. I want to undercoat while the exhaust is removed b4 I have the new exhaust built. I'm just wondering if their is any point in cleaning up the heat shields and hangars or just the under carriage. Is you're muffler any where near the stock heat shield, did they use the stock hangars?

my spintech system used he stock hangers but not the heat shields, so i tossed em.

Ditto, my custom set up uses the factory attaching points, but I ditched all the heatshields.

I left all the heat shields in place when I had the flowmasters you bought from me on there. Where I had my mufflers the heat shield was on top of them. I would keep them.
