Need help for a wideband datalogger

So I've been reading some of the threads here and at dak-dur. I really can't justify over $350 for this, I can get a LC1 for $229 (http://www.diyautotune.com/catalog/innovate-standalone-gauge-kit-lc1-blue-gauge-p-153.html?osCsid=2477bfbb3336956c49af844c22352e1b) or AEM UEGO (http://www.aemonly.com/electronics-6/gauges-uego-17/aem-wideband-uego-gauge-250.html?gclid=CI2m6LqOop8CFQk75Qod-3f7dQ) for $218 shipped.

The wife does have a laptop, I'm sure she'd prefer if I wasn't taking it all the time for this though. Can any of these record and just plug into a PC afterwards? For the Extra $150 can the LM2 really do every thing I need w/ out a laptop? Do I still have to plug it into a PC after to get what I need?

I've got the SCT PRP and haven't even looked at the software yet, but I need to get the datalogger before money runs out, and I want to be ready to do a minor tune once it's together(early next month?!).

There's a code for diyauto to get the LM2 but it's barely cheaper than summit even @ $100 off. Some one had posted links to buy the LM2 in 2 pieces from egay, did any one get that?

The LC1 and AEM will both require the laptop to be in the truck to record data. An LM-2 will let you record and then download the data later.

So the LM-2 will still require to be hooked up to pc at some point, thanks. I'm really considering the egay deal.

Yes it will so you can download your logs to view them in a graph format. Purchase the LM2 Basic kit and the LM2 OBD II cable from Amazon for around $325.

Order the OBD II cable for $25 and get a SD memory card for cheap and you saved a good chunk of change!

I actually bought a Netbook just for tuning my cars and trucks. For only like 250-350 bux I have a small laptop to do the tuning with. I found that the simplest for me, but I use it a lot and it has paid for itself more than once. I will create a base map on my main computer and put it on a flash drive then transfer it to my netbook to work the tune on the dyno or on the fly even. I use my netbook as on the go tuning, and my main computer to store all my information on, including all my data logging info too.

Get the LC1 +guage kit and you will be good for basic stuff. That way you can look at the tune while driving. Everything is going to need a laptop at one point or another. I still have my original LM-1 so their equip holds up and works good.
