Anyone Know If Its Possible To Adapt A Viper Rear End Cooler To The Dakota

If you drilled and tapped the housing, and figured out how much extra fluid to run to keep the dynamic level right while not having it puking out the ends statically, it should work. If you can mount the majority of the fluid lines, pump and cooler below the static oil level in the diff, it will make it a LOT easier.

I'm not familiar with how the Viper diff cooler is setup. But I saw a Cobra at a car show that fully setup for road racing, he had a small setrab cooler with fans in the trunk and a small pump that cyled the fluid from the diff. He said it worked really well. You could do the same thing, but keep the setrab under the bed.

Is this for autocross or road racing? Its a bit of an overkill for a 50 second run with cool down of several minutes in between. I rarely overheated my PS fluid autocrossing but boiled it and fouled the pump rapidly while on the big track. I have a Mag Hytec cover and never have any problems. Its has a port for a temp sender but I don't think its needed. Good synthetic fluid (hint Amsoil hint) and you're set. I run a tranny cooler mounted behind the viper fan for my PS fluid. In desperate need of a race pump!

Very cool. Do you have any pics of your truck in race trim? I can't wait to get a new set of full slicks and put in the 4.10's and a TrueTrac. 4.56's with bald 40 series DR's out back and a burnt up posi are not a fun combo. I am still owed a half day at the road course here. I never have any engine cooling issues. Viper fan rules. I will do a flush before it gets hot though. Water wetter and distilled water etc. My front V700's are low on tread and I flat spotted one down to the cords. Need 4 V710's, oh and about a grand to pay for em... :jester:
