Has anybody else had an error trying to load the PRP software onto your computer. Along with the disk that was sent it said that they would have to activate it. do they send something in an email that I use the thingy that plugs into the USB port to make it work? I'm just trying to see if I'm doing something wrong before I have to call them.

Easier to just call them. They'll even go so far as to help you setup a remote connection with them so that they can take control of your PC and do it for you.

The usb port is for downloading email tunes to sct handheld.

If I remember right as its been a couple years, you need to fill out the form they give you with the tuner and fax it to them. They then "Activate" it on their end. You install the software on your PC and then use the software along with that little USB thing that they call a "Dongle" to update it which in turn completes the activation. The usb cable and tuner is used to download your tunes be it prepared by yourself or someone else that emailed them to you. You would need to download the "LiveLoad" software from SCT to use emailed tunes.

BTW...what error are you getting?

Who did you buy that thing from Steve? My came activated didn't fax anything to anybody.

And this better be for the R/T, you can take your 4.7 bullcrap to dak-dur. LOL

I think its cause the dongle is not activated yet, even though I sent them that page back last friday.

it says there is an error with your dongle ID:.........
Try to update your dongle by running the Update utility: UpdateClient.exe
Located in C:/ProgramFiles/SCT/AvantageIII/

also on the dongle and when you click on the Update Advantage III and it pulls up the stuff loaded on it, it show "applications" and "value files 2009" that has ford-lincoln-mercury under it. Did they possible send me the wrong files on the disk

Hey, elliot, how about you know what you're talking about before you try to make fun of somebody? He's talking about the prp package from sct, NOT just the sct tuner itself with your "email" tunes. Its a computer program package that allows individual tuning by yourself. Obviously not what you have. So why don't you stop mouthing his 4.7 and go do some research.

I knew Dave was joking. I do have a 4.7 and a R/T. The R/T is the slower one thats why he said it

That's what it sounds like. Btw, mine came with a sheet of instructions to get me going. They should have given you one if they did not.

Thanks for clearing that up Steve.

Anyway my main concern is you beating me with the 4.7, so I'm gonna need ya to focus on the R/T awhile. :nana:
