If you don't mind ordering from the US try www.supercrewsound.com. They are up in Belleville Wisconsin. They want $339 for a box wth MTX subs. I bought mine empty for $80.00 less, and put Kicker CVT 10's in and it sounds awsome. I had that recomondation from a couple of different sources. They all told me that Kicker or JL would be the subs to have. I bought my subs themselves from this place, http://www.hifisoundconnection.com. They were good to deal with also.

The MTX speakers aren't that bad but if you plan on shaking down houses you might want to go with the empty box and buy your own speakers like he said above.

Hey I've got that same box, came in my R/T when I bought it with no subs. What other subs fits inside it besides those crappy MTXs? I had 10" pioneers but they didnt fit.

yea hold out for one to go on sale on the forums if you can. i got mine local for 150 with Rockford fosgate XLC's in em. hits pretty hard but i listen to metal 99 percent of the time so really don't even get to hear rap type bass often. i just have it set up to hear the double bass drum kicks real good in metal songs.

I should look it up but can anyone tell me what the 10 inch mounting depth and diameter is? You can get this box in 12's right?

You know what the bad part is? I was in a junkyard the other day looking for parts, and found an MTX enclosure sub box in this trashed club cab 99 model dakota. I told the guy the box was back there, and how much it was worth, if I had extra cash on me I would've kept my mouth shut and jerked the thing out and gave him 40 bucks for it but I already have one. Didn't know there was such a demand for the thing

Question, since there are some guys who know audio here, I have that MTX box loaded with MTX 10" Jackhammers but they can't handle the SONY XPLODE 1200 watt amp I have. I've blown two of those speakers already and I have the bass turned way down on the cd player and it hits some but not like when I had 10" Pioneers. Kicker CV10s have 400 watts RMS so I think they'll blow too if I get those. Is there any low profile sub that will fit in the box and handle this amp?

Depends on the model of Sony Xplode amp you have but a quick google search turned up the RMS to be 200watts for your amp in a 2 x 4ohm connection.

If you go with the MTX check how they are wired. When I got mine they were paralleled they should be wired in series. This will lower it to 4 ohms if I remember right. It makes a big diff. the bass will hit harder and will reach lower tones.

Can you post a diagram to show how to wire them in series? However the wires were laid out in mine is the way I hooked up the subs. If this will make it better I would like to learn more.

Run the wire from one speaker to the other then to the terminal out of the box

Thanks guys. The old saying is still true, that you can learn something new everyday. Much appreciated.
