i know im going for two diffrent things here performance and looks. Im running a 245/45/17 on the rear because of the air ride. Performance mods i have are a m-1 intake, 52mmx2 throttle body, cold air intkae, full msd, mopar performance pcm and a built tranny. Mods to come are 30lb injectors and 11lb boost and going to put a 4 link on it but was woundering if any body could help with some traction :drive:

Traction...?

Wait till the 4 link is installed.

So you have air ride without a four link? If you took out all the leafs except the main leaf to lower it, you are probably getting alot of axle wrap

i had this problem even when it was lowered but even worse now

If I'm not mistaken I believe Adobe's just running Caltracs, Monoleafs, and vertically installed QA1 shocks.

That's it...And 16 PSI in the slicks.

hey dave.... did you ever figure what relocating the shocks gave you?... aside from headaches?

if it's worthwhile i may give it a shot one day, probably when i have to redo the fuel system top to bottom.... but if it wasnt anything measurable.... fuck it.

Don't really know...I changed out a couple other things at the same time, but with the Caltracs and Monoleafs...It dead hooks. I've never adjusted anything on it. Not even the QA1s...LOL

EDIT: I really don't even worry about the tire pressure...Just make sure they equall, I like 16psi because it feels more stable.

BTW...I'm launching at almost 3K

Launching at 3 k would give me wood, so far I can only launch at 2500 to 2600 and dead hook. 22 psi in both tires cause it gets tail happy at the top end of the 1/8th which I believe is cause the track. Ofcourse I'm not making as much power as you.

I just added Cal Tracs and went from 1.69 to 1.58, I think it still spins a tiny bit, but my power comes on really hard.

Same size shocks? Stock location for the one that is already rear facing? What did you use for mounting point? Kit? Custom Made?

Intresting, is that bar anything special or just a steel bar welded in?

Chassis guy here made it...Cr Mo...I have pics of the parts, can't find them.

I rotaded the top hangers up to gain length so I would not have to buy longer shocks than the ones in the pic, but I did anyway.
If I did it again, I would set it up for coil overs, but it works so well now, why bother...I suppose launching on a 100 shot will make me at least adjust something.

I can say this....With the shocks upright, I use to run the QA1's on 10-12...Now I'm at 6, it's stiff as shit.

My plan next year is to at least play with the shock settings, length and settings, and adjust the caltracs. Maybe longer shock travel, softer setting on the shocks....More preload on the caltracs...??

EDIT: Here's a thread on Moparts....Big block Gen II

Correct me if I'm wrong but aren't coilover shocks typically used with a 4 link setup?

Did you perchance calculate the installation ratio before and after the mod? I'm sure it changed drastically.

Those are factory springs with a lowering block?

That pic was taken with stock springs....I'm now using Monleafs and Caltracs, never ran the Caltracs with the stock springs...But I'm still using the 1" block.

Mr. Caltracs (?) said the block would not be problem.

I run a very simple setup and it works just fine for me.
28x10 slicks, Slide-a-link bars. Thats it. Stock springs, stock shocks.
1.54 60 foot. Launching at about 3500 rpm

I have to try and stall it higer. Only bringing it to 2400 for a 1.58, pretty similar setup. Running hotchkis with bils shocks also.
