Stock rear end. 28 in tires. I think I hit the rev limiter as I crossed the finish line. 6000 rpm. Something like that. Not going into over drive.

I'm trapping at 6200 now @ 106. Shifting at 6500.
Got a 727 here & 4.56 gears. Looks like I need 29.5 slicks & more money.

I was wondering why the mph seemed low. Belt slip would explain it. I heard a hair drier will fix that.

Its s simple fix. Chris said the same thing. Told him he could put it on if it was free. Would even let him have the blower.

I think with that kind of power you will have trouble getting the belt to stay stuck without going to a cog setup.....

At least part of my truck ran a 10 cause mine sure never will

I think I am having belt slip just because of the way the tensioner is set up right now. The belt is so long that the tensioner is toward the end of its extension therefore causing it to almost get pulled out to far thus causing the slip. I am going to try a couple things. Going to try to reclock the tensioner and maybe put a smaller belt on. Problem is the only belt around that I can find goes from 65.25 to 66 and nothing really in between. If there was a 65.5 belt it would be perfect. I can't find one anywhere. Anyone know if someone makes that?

Before I changed the pulleys I had no belt slip at all, and I did nothing but improve the pulley systems, so I don't doubt that I can figure out a good solution.

Awesome times. By your MPH and trap RPM you have a pretty efficient converter. 2.45 % slip approx. Mine Is trapping at 121.5 at 6500 in third. Thats 13.7% slippage. Do you still run a lockup converter? I was thinking of getting a more efficient converter and see how goes on the top end.
I always wanted to try to make it down to Cecil. I hear its downhill ;)
I actually used to race occasionally with an OG DML guy like myself from down there. Shane Baker was his name. He ran consistent 13.9s there, when I was running 14.2s here. We met at Atco and I was one tenth faster than him every pass. Always wanted to go there since then. Are they strict on tech? No roll Bar here.

Dave Downing, I wanted to coment on the JVC video cameras, I was going to buy a JVC digital camera the week before I went to Atco, I read the reviews and people weere bitching about the neccesity to use the JVC program for editing. Everyone hated it. They said you needed to buy a program to convert the files or find freeware that supports it. Needless to say, I didnt buy it. I have video of my runs, Im waiting for my friend to get a Sony Ilink cable so I can download it.

I don't run a lock up convertor, I have to check with Chris and see where he put the rev limiter cause I think I just touched it when I crossed. I know the shift point is 6000, if i recall the rev limiter was 6200. You should come down one day. I have learned that I am never pulling anything off the truck again, ahha.

Oh and on saturdays they are not that strict. They never said anything to me about a bar. Then again I have a CC so they may think its in there.

Why are you not pulling anything off the truck again?

Cause I think I saved like 75 lbs total. Not worth the time. Plus, I know I can run 10's in full street weight, especially if I get this belt issue fixed.

dyno05

6200 rpm is 5.6% slip, still very good. Im very curious if a better coupling converter will help me any on the top. My truck always seems to run better times in the eighth than what its showing on top. This is why my mph is sort of low. It was worse before I had the blower. I was running an 8.0 in the
1/8th with a 12.7 at 104. It might just be wind drag too. These trucks dont have the best aero.

Oh, I just pulled the seat and it was only 17 pounds. I did it with an impact so it took 5 seconds. Thats all I changed for the track, except the front runners and slicks. I probably wont pull the seat again. I have other areas Im focusing on now. ;)

dyno05

How do you know the belt was slipping, was the boost dropping? I havent had a problem with that yet, it was climbing through 3rd and held steady at 11 through the traps. I must be lucky. I have the belt set really tight, its a bitch to take on and off, like almost 40 minutes to do it, but it doesnt slip.

Yea, my driveshaft loop is bolted to the seat bolt, so its a pain to get back under there and redo it. I wish I could of used dave's bogarts, I did not have enough thread on the bolts for the wheels to be safe. Seems like I would need the "tuner" lugs that go into the hole to use them. I still ran my 19" CCW's on this run. That is probably the only thing I would change out.

Was only seeing 10lbs of boost at the higher RPM's, Normally getting about 13 psi. The tensioner is flipping over to where the point that it want come back down. I need a shorter belt in order to get it tighter. Its very easy to put on and take off right now.

My loop is a weld in, welded to the frame, so it isnt an issue, The wheels I borrowed had the deep lugs, never would have worked with the stock lugs. Im probably gonna break down and buy a set, the weight savings is huge.

My CCW's are not to bad, I think probably about 40 lbs. I will have to weigh them and find out. But yea having 12 lbs bogarts would be sweet.

The front Bogarts I ran with tires were 21 pounds each. My old setup of Durango rims and too small for the rim tires were 41 pounds each. I run Durango rims in the back , with the slicks, I dont actually know the weight because I havent gotten around to weighing those but probably like 50 pounds. I dont run the tubes, havent had an issue there either.

I run the American Racing Baja's in the rear, Those with the tires, can't be but like 30lbs. I dont run tubs either. I will have to weight the wheels. Don't think its worth it for me to get bogarts unless I can almost steal them.
