My cable seems a little tight. I am using the 5' cable that came with the shifter. It is routed around the starter. Also it seems like it's in a bind on the tranny bellhousing. Did you guys modify the brackets that bolt to the trans.

Mine was a tad on the tight side, it was binding at the same place your talking about......I cut the original cable bracket off and just bent the new one a bit to relieve some of the pressure. I didn't get it perfect, but it's not noticeable when selecting a gear.

Mine was also a little tight. So I had to bend the bracket a little. Also if I were you I would get a thicker cable from a preformance shop. The one that comes with the shifter is to thin and my crack tight or not.I know a few guys that had that problem. Also if you have headers make sure if the cable is running close that you put a heat coil around it[also at the preforamce shop]or the cable may melt like mine did.Hope this helps.

Oh and also you need someone to move the shifter while you ajust the cable screw.

I went with a Hurst 1/4 stick and my biggest challenge was mounting it cleanly inside without making things look chooched. The under car compnents all dropped right in when I used the stock trans pan. When I went with an LPW pan, I had to drop the bracket and grind it a bit for clearance. Maybe if you pickup a set of the Hurst brackets, it'll make your install easier. The only thing I had to modify was one of those brackets that goes from the trans to the block. And, that was only to pick up a new mounting point for the TV spring.

All cable adjustements should be made with the trans in neutral, regardless of who made the shifter.

I also had mine in neutral, but I think we had someone shift it when the scew was set because it was to tight the first time.
