Just wondering if anyone has ever usedcompetition engineering's adjustable drag shocks on their truck? Do you like them? I know most of you are going to suggest the QA1's but I just can't afford those.

if it's the ones i'm thinking of the adjustment is only a two or three way... i'd say they probably aren't for a daily driver, unless you don't hammer the twisties at all and just go in a straight line. They work and work well on purpose built street/drag cars though. Just not something that i'd put on a street driven truck of my own.

I think they have a 9 way adjustable. Or is that Ranchos I'm thinking of. But you're right, there are cheaper alternatives to the QA1's that can provide good results.

i was sittin on the can browsing the latest summit... saw em in there for $44 iirc.. thought about getting myself a set as well. the only twisties my truck is gonna see is at the turnaround on the high side of the 1/4...

if that's the case then go for it... if u really wanna go cheap do the 70/30's

that's where my confusion begins...

i know the fronts should extend slow, compress quick- and the opposite for the rear... but at the same rates? 70/30 in the front and 30/70 in the back?

or 90/10 in the front, 10/90 in the back? what about a mix of 70/30 and 90/10?

i might be backwards on front/back vs slow/quick- its been a bit since ive thought about it.... but..... whats a good starting point? i dont want to dump some money into some shocks only to later find out i should have gone with a different ratio---- i guess that's the benefit of adjustables.......

Yeah, just flip your description. Up fast, down slow so it hangs. I am not sure on the rears though, if they should be opposite. In theory it sounds right. I'd definitely go the same of the opposite. I.e...90/10-10/90 or 70/30-30/70, if that's the case.

90/10's up front 70/30's in the rear. You want the front to come up fast for weight transfer and you want to be able to stiffen the rears to help plant the wheels and prevent porpoising.

90/10's up front 70/30's in the rear.

would you stick with those #'s with slide-a-links?
