Sounds pretty cool, it's mainly for the Outlaw 10.5 and Outlaw Drag Radial guys to get more exposure. But there's two classes that could be fun, Open Comp and Grudge Match:
Open Comp - Entry-level race class designed for any American made car. A Test-n-Tune class designed to accommodate everyone. One of the overall goals for these events is to be completely interactive with the crowd and sponsors. Each spectator will have the opportunity to vote for their favorite cars to win prizes and a chance to compete in a “shootout” at the end of the day. There will be a class for favorite Ford, favorite Chevy, favorite BOP (Buick/Olds/Pontiac), and favorite Mopar. Spectators cast their votes for each category at strategically located voting booths throughout the manufacturer’s midway. The top four cars from each brand will be selected and announced live. All 16 cars compete to defend their brand in a single-elimination – bracket- tournament. One brand and one racer is left standing to receive the coveted “Manufacturer’s Cup.”
The Grudge Category - Open to any American made car. No rules or limitations put on the vehicles other than standard safety requirements. Racers who have a grudge to settle with an opponent can setup races against each other via the web forum on 1320x.com. Contestants will apply online to race each other and the 1320x staff will then select ten matches for each event to run during the day. These individual matches will be recorded and placed on 1320x.com’s video portal for viewing within 24 hours of the race. The winner of each grudge race will be awarded a 1320x “Grudge Winner” window cling to display with pride.
Grudge match would be cool, either a couple of Dakotas going against each other, or maybe hook up with the Lightning guys and get some Dakota/Lightning grudge matches going.
They already have events scheduled for Rockingham, MIR, Milan, Texas Motorplex, Lebanon Valley and Firebird. So it looks like most of the big dogs out there could get in on it somewhere. Shit like this makes me want to put a rollbar in, so I can actually go play. :woot:
