Went to a car show and was shocked to take first place in truck modified class. This was a judge show so the trophy means alittle more that with the tough competition in my class the work i put in into the truck is being seen...finally. Heres some pix with our new canon rebel t1i.

Truck looks great! Congrats on the first place too.

I wish I could show my truck. It's a good looking, good shape daily driver though. I've had it for 3 years now and the previous owner (lease vehicle) wasn't so easy on it. Bed is used and scratched down to primer, bed rails, back bumper is the worst of it. The lo pro tonneau covers most everything. It's a decent 20 footer with the top down.:D

mine wasnt a much a show truck either, bed was worn down from the plastic bedliner but you would never know that with the bedrug. had some issues of the years that insurance covered to get it back to showroom condition. rear bumper was bent and rear panels had dents from when the old owner hit it with his trailer but a coworker hit the truck by accident with a forklift and got that fixed with the rollpan. hit a full 2liter bottle of coke on the highway going 80 and destroyed the whole front end so that is new. so the only thing one the truck that hasnt been repainted are the 2 doors.:jester:

I'm gonna try for the makeover in about 5 years I think. Working on the go fast part right now since it still looks good.

Hey man nice truck! What kind of tonneau cover is that with the wing attached to it? I would like to find me one! Also, where can you pick one up at?

thanks. the cover was made by Superior which i believe is no longer in business, it was a group buy here on the site that turned into a nightmare. There was one for sale in the for sale section but i believe it was local only.

Truck looks good, but the pictures do not. Please tell me you were not shooting on full auto. Your WB is way off, and there is way too much contrast. If you don't have it, I'd "pick up" Adobe Lightroom to edit/process your pictures.

i was messing around on the puter with the color. i now have some uv and polarizing lens for my camera to take away alot of the glare.

I never use uv or polarizing lenses. I think it was more of you shooting in direct sunlight.

What were your camera settings when you were shooting? (ISO, shutter speed, aperture)

Well, until then, read and re-read the manual so you understand what everything your camera does, and what everything means. I only shoot in RAW. Maybe check out http://photography-on-the.net/forum/ It's not my favorite photog site, but you can learn a lot.

The original looks 10x better. I think it's just lacking a good background.

Shooting in RAW is just a waste of memory! Maybe if you had any concept of how to take a good picture, you wouldn't need it as a crutch!!!! jk
Seriously though, of course it depends what you're doing but as long as you have full editing software, I wouldn't bother with RAW. Just get it close enough in JPEG and make small adjustments accordingly. You're only making more work for yourself.

Check out the work of a friend of mine. In his blog, he goes over some of the work he does and how he does it.

I want cake!

You ever likely to make it out to a truck event again or are you confining yourself out there in the plains?

Meh, I dunno. Depends on how close it is. I should have the truck running in a couple months, but the Mrs. and I are thinking of buying a house, and I may have to liquidate my toys. We'll see by the beginning of next year.

Good luck getting something close to Kansas! Understandable on the toy front, there's talk the gov't might extend the tax credit for buying a house and even up the amount as well. I'd love to get in on that action but I be po'.
