Is it possible to convert the stock trans lines to AN fittings? I know that trans builders will offer that as an option on a new build, but is it something I could do with the trans still in the truck?

Photobucket is blocked out here :( But if you're showing me pictures of how you did it on your truck, care to send them to david.downing@cvw17.navy.mil ? And tell me how you did it! :)

Certainly!
If you are talking about just AN fittings connected to the stock steel lines, then remove them from the tranny and cooler. Take them to any local shop that specializes in high pressure hoses and fittings and they can install them on the steel lines. They will probly flange the steel lines on both ends, or they may already be flanged (not sure). With the new fittings, it may be necessary to shorten the lines just a tad bit and re-flange the lines to account for the new fittings.
You can do it with the tranny in the truck. You want pans under the tranny and cooler to catch the fluid.
Take the attaching hardware with you as well, then they can size up everything with proper hardware to go from tranny, to line, to cooler and back.

That's good to hear. Do I need anything special to remove the lines from the tranny? The cooler is already out of the truck, it was a small one that came with the PowerDemon. I'm gonna pick up a bigger cooler that already has -6 fittings on it, so I just need the lines going into the tranny modified. Thanks Ed!

Cool, just wanted to make sure it didn't need a special tool. I think I have some wrenches and beer, so I'm good

How big were they? They have size limits on e-mails out here. Maybe try 'em one per e-mail? :) Nope, pretty much all the hosting sites are blocked to try to save bandwidth. Yeah, it sucks out here LOL

Thanks. Did you use the B&M plate style cooler? That's the one I'm looking at, I think it's 10"x11", some of the guys on Moparts said they dropped 30-50* by switching to the B&M from a tube&fin style cooler. Here's the one I'm looking at:

Not yet, but that's my work e-mail, so it has to get forwarded to the boat, and the boat e-mail is slow sometimes. I'll let you know if I don't see it by the time I come back from dinner. Thanks.

Those are the only two I have access to at the moment. How big are the pictures? Can you resize them and send one at a time? Boat sucks for big e-mails.

anyone ever fine part #'s? I am in the need of the fitting that connects to the hard line and then to an line and the fitting that screws into the trans

This might sound retarded. Why are you guys worried about adapting it to the stock oem steel lines? If your running a aftermarket transmission cooler. Wouldn't it be easier to run braided line all the way to the cooler?

Well my stock lines are trashed and I am still using the stock cooler for a few months. Thats why I am looking to reuse the ends of the stock line, since thats the only part not damaged

Like these? I rigged this up so I could bypass the stock tranny cooler and radiator and just use a B&M plate style cooler. Click this link (http://www.summitracing.com/parts/RUS-639200) and get them from Summit. Good luck :rockwoot:
