I've been doing this when I find time to test and tune for the last year and I've learned a great deal. I'd say I've pretty much mastered the WOT tuning. Maybe if I ever get the money to install my 408, etc, I'll get the chance to tune idle and part throttle fuel.

Anyone else working on their SCT PRP tune?

When I did my Megasquirt stuff I had to learn the idle first and work the tables out from there. WOT was the last, and probably easiest part to do. Scott from Spectre Performance wrote an entire tune on the dyno from scratch in under 20 minutes. It was amazing watching him tune.

20 minutes is awesome!

From idle to part throttle, by looking at it, is definitely the hard part. I think I can figure it out though. It's the nomenclature of the parameters I have trouble with...and the dodge "language". Things that put it in a "high" and "low limit" description like some of the torque converter lockup at part throttle scalars. For example, I'd like to keep my truck from shifting up earlier than it does at part throttle cruise to get rid of a little bit of lugging at times.

Working with it with the help of a member from the Dak-Dur site. Currently trying to to get the idle's A/F just right before moving on to part throttle. Other shit like a bad regulator, viper fan, fuel leaks and whatnot have been holding up progress. Finally got all those probs sorted out yesterday but now I'm out of town for a week so picking back up on the tuning has to wait some more. Not the most intuitive software that's for sure but I hope to gain a lot of knowledge from my very patient helper.

You can say that again. I watched a guy working with HP tuners and everything was labeled in lamens terms. Must be nice.

One thing I learned is that you can NOT rely on the base tune's table settings as they come from SCT. I found many a cell value just way too inconsistent with the surrounding cells. Something to keep in mind before you do a global 10% or whatever adjustment to a table that has several imbedded cells that are f'd up to begin with.

Don't have my usb key with me so I can't verify this but if I recall correctly, in the base tune..the minimum fuel table setting was like around 900 or so but if you look at the minimum injector pulsewidth setting...it's at like 1800. This is from memory but WTF over! When I get more versed with the PRP, I'll go through the base tune we get from SCT and point out all the discrepancies I can. Right now, seems to me like they put this out there for us DC guys which is great don't get me wrong but intentionally flawed the tables to make it more difficult for the do-it-yourselfers. Either that or their QA either sucks bigtime or is just nonexistent. I could be wrong but that's just what it appears like to me at this point and I'm a freaking novice.

Was this at a megameet? I should try to get to one of those.

Yep. The one in Richmond a couple years ago. I think they are all in GA now at the DIY shop.
