Forgive me as I'm alittle pissed right now. Its eems I got bad advice on the right and proper breather assembly to use in my truck. So, $90 down the fuckng drain. Nothing worse than wasting money.
So, I'll ask it here, what breather assembly works on a stock hood (cowl hood WITHOUT braces cut)?

I was told a 1.25" drop base would work...um WRONG! So I have part # 66-3040 as a paperweight. What will clear? I prefer to order a complete kit if able, saves the time and hassle.

Thats where I got the wrong info. Notice half way down the page, some guy named jimipop is using a 1.25" drop base. That WILL NOT work. Not sure how his is. Mine won't sit at all. Hits the radiator hose and the throttle linkage.
The other thing is those part numbers are individual parts. I want the entire kit, one thing. I don't want to order 3 different parts. Why I referenced the above link. I would hate to think I have no other choice but to order 3 separate parts....

Follow the advice in my original post.
85-3540 - 14" base plate - offset opening
E-3735 - 14x2.5" filter -OR-
E-3742 - 14x2.81" filter
OEM hoods max out with the 2.81" filter.
66-1401 - 14" xtreme lid - black trim ring
66-1401XB - 14" xtreme lid - blue trim ring
66-1401XR - 14" xtreme lid - red trim ring
66-1401XP - 14" xtreme lid - steel trim ring
I don't know of any pre-configured kits because the Dakotas require the offset base plate to clear the wiper cowl shelf. I've ordered these specific parts multiple times - 1x 2.81" filter for an OEM hood, and 2x 4" filters for my SRT-10 hood.

What drop base did you use with your SRT hood?

I used the same base & lid with all of my hoods/filters - as far as I'm aware you can't use any drop with the base at all or you'll hit stuff. You have to pivot the base about 10 degrees towards the driver's side of the engine bay and you're good to go. I've used a 2.81" filter with my OEM hood, 4" filter with my SRT-10 hood, and now I'm using a 3" filter on top of my M1-4bbl with Zex N2O plate and 4bbl/2bbl TB adapter.

85-3540 - 14" base plate - offset opening
E-3750 - 14x4" filter
66-1401XB - 14" xtreme lid - blue trim ring

I run a 14x2 K&N with Race Flo Xtreme top on a flat standard offset base. F&B 50mm atop an M1 2bl. Gonna cut the cowl hood to make room for 4 inch and an ofset base(maybe).....
