Ok I'm going to build a 360 4bbl. and NO it's not seeing boost. It's going to be a N/A motor. I really want to do this and push out as much power as I can from a 360. Here are the plans/parts:
Top end:
Mopar M1 4bbl. MPI intake manifold
4bbl. throttle body (1000cfm)
Mopar R/T Iron heads
2.02" intake
1 5/8" exhaust
R/T Head specs:
60cc chamber
2.02"/1.625" valve sizes
180cc intake port volume
229cfm flow @ .550"
52lbs.
Eddy head comparison:
58cc chamber
2.02"/1.600" valve sizes
176cc intake port volume
...
Lighter aluminum
Long tube headers
1 3/4" primaries
true-dual 2.5" exhaust
high flow cat/welded muffler on each side
Hughes Engines cam
.520" lift intake
.544" lift exhaust
214 intake duration
218 exhaust duration
114 lobe seperation
1.6 roller tip COMP cams rockers
PCM flash
Now there will be some additions like a MSD coil, autolite 3923 plugs, cap & rotor, maybe MSD 6AL, losing the clutch fan possibly....
Now I want to keep it running 87 octane (regular fuel), and daily driveable. If any of you have suggestions with ignition and other compatable parts fill me in. Once in a while I'll throw in race fuel or 93 octane and octane booster if that's ok??

So you want no torque??? LOL

87 octane should be fine. There will be no reason to use anything with a higher octane IMO. I've run all of my quickest times on 87 octane and that's with a 408 on a 150 shot.

In my opinion, you have a similiar build to my own 360. However, I would recommend a custom grind cam from SouthEastRT (John Mercedes) with his RT 2.02 heads.
keep in mind the PCM flas may have you running premium gas. I know when B&G did mine, the truck runs so much better on 91+ octane and like garbage on 87. Just what I've noticed.
Also keep in mind the heads and cam will more than likely (depending on port and cam cut) will need a taller gear (hence 4.56) that most go with, with a higher stall.
There are a butt load of guys here thats done this stuff like Alan above, and I can only offer my own experience. I can tell you the 2.02 heads, 2 bbl M1, Mopar headers produced just under 330rhp/torque on my truck. Since that dyno, I've up'd the port on the heads, went with the 4 bbl M1, changed the TB, and went LT headers. New dyno will come soon but i assure you, no loss in torque here. Again, this is only my own experience. There is a ton of people that can assist you. But I wouldn't recommend Hughes...heard some bad things from them.

4.56 gears will help quite a bit...
I've got a 408, M1-4bbl, 2.02 R/T heads, Spintech headers/exhaust, 4.56 gears and even with an OEM converter I have absolutely no problem at all with roasting the tires for hundreds of feet.

I'd go with the Eddy heads (fully ported), save the weight and gain a lil compression. And I'd go bigger on the cam. You're gonna have a lot of intake and a lot of head, with not enough cam. Also, why 114lsa if you're staying n/a? And as mentioned you'll need a converter to match and probably gears.

far as a cam goes i wouldnt recommend hughes for one, they offer some good parts but when i was shopping for one i didnt like any of them, hence the reason i went with a krc 210x, tell ya the truth those cam specs seem to be for a s/c motor, if ya got the money and want to leave the bottom end stock then i would go with the eddys. 99BarneyRT think you can make it up to the gastonia g2g? wouldnt mind seeing your dak in person.

I totally agree with you on this. John from Southeast has helped me so much on getting my truck to run faster, with just a cam change, gears and his LT's i dropped a second off my time. I put down 320rwhp/335rwtq. Now that i have put on a 4-barrel and John Single-Blade T-Body, my truck feels a lot better now and a lot more fun to drive

I dunno. Never ran the truck in this state. Our local 1/8th was shut down before I could run it, and I didn't make it tot he MATR last year. So, I really can't say. The truck weighed in if I recall correctly, about 4200lbs with me in it. Its a CC. This is daily driven weight not race weight. And if I recall, I had about 1/4 tank fo gas as well. This using the base's scales.

Exactly my friend. John doesn't 'guess' to what will work, he knows. He also knows what cam to what head port will work for you. As my signature shows, his heads and cam package alone make some serious power--I gained 74RHP on his cam and stage "TWO" port. Like yourself Matt, I also shit canned the 2 bbl for a 4, and the 52mm for the single blade unit. I also put on the LT that I test fited for him on the 2000 models and up crowd. I just need to get some seat time on it and work out a few bugs here and there.
The dyno in my sig also had me running lean on top end. Which means I'm probably running lean throughout the band at the moment. Engine time, computer re-learn time and if hassle free, dyno time will give the net gains. You just can't go wrong with SouthEastRT, imo.
