...is coming in the morning UPS. I'm excited! :rockwoot: Finally the one I wanted lol. I got it from SuicideDoors.com and it's a Grant Kustoms compound curve steel roll pan that has a plate box in the center. I'll post pics when it the UPS dude delivers!

Definately no time on opening that thing and posting about it. Now get it painted and I want to see the before and after pictures. I always liked the Dark Charcoal color like yours.

No that would've been useless. I want to smooth out the rear and weld the pan to the bedsides.

So how do I go about welding this thing on? Start with the top edges where it goes behind the tailgate first then the sides? Do you weld the outside back and under behind edges? Wanna make this thing top notch...

Well I take it you already know how to weld, so go to cleaning the paint off the metal. Me personally I would start off easy and do acouple small tack welds on both sides to hold it on. Then start doing tack welds on top and moving around different areas so you dont warp it till it is all filled in with weld.

+1, what he said. Also, don't just throw one solid bead at it, you can warp/bend the metal. Watch the heat, as you can blow right through the sheet metal if your too hot too

I don't have a welder, so me & a friend will be doing it. This is not gunna be a quick job! :jester:
I'm aware of the potential warping/bending, so I just wanted alternate strategies from you guys. But sounds good so far...
What about the bare metal that gets covered once it's welded on? I don't want it rusting...
