Since I saw Bryan's caravan post, I thought I'd make a thread for anyone coming from NY and farther north. I know Chris is coming from NH...anyone else?

I am getting on 81 right here in Syracuse. I am still unsure what time I am leaving, but I would like to get there in time to go to the sprint cars Friday night.

I'm coming from Plattsburgh NY. I was thinking about going to Albany then to Binginghamton to PA. I would be nice to have other people to follow down, as i'm drivng the whole 8 hours down by myself.

I don't know if there is a rest area but I usually get off one of the exits for gas around that area. Will let you know which exit it is when I go to the Carlisle GM show in 2 weeks.

Didja make it there? Not only did I NOT see YOUR Saturn...I didn't see much of anything but Camaros! new ones, old ones, restored ones, modified ones, if I ever wanted to see "Camaro Nationals"--I did--
but not very much else there, esp. on Friday. [I'm a big fan of early 60s pontiac iron, Buick GS's, 442's etc,...there weren't even very many Chevelles, or "tri 5's"... so much for GM, just call it Camaros at Carlisle.

I'm so glad the mopar show is a much bigger venue.

On another note, we did hit up the quater aces 1/8th mi. track, that was fun to watch!

I did make it there around noon on Friday. I had lunch and was talking to Tony, one of the Carlisle employees, and was told by him that it was going to rain in the afternoon so I didn't bother to pull the car out of the trailer.

The Saturn class had 21 cars in it on Saturday, the most Saturns I had ever seen in 1 place. I did win 1st in my class and got a celebrity pick for 1 of the top 10 cars on the show field.

Because of the weather on Friday, many people didn't bother to show up. Saturday was quite busy but not like the Chrysler show. I was told by many people that the Chrysler show is the largest show that Carlisle puts on. There weren't many tri five Chevys there but there was some serious old Pontiacs that showed up. A few Buicks were there but outside of the Camaros and GTOs, the El Camino group was the largest group with more than 100 cars, which was impressive cause you don't see alot of them around. There weren't many Chevelles there because there was a Chevelle specific show in Maryland this past weekend and that is where they were.

It was a decent show, smaller than last year but still pretty decent. Sucks that you couldn't have been there on Saturday, you would have been much happier with the cars than on Friday. We should have exchanged phone numbers so that if you didn't see my car, at least you would have been able to get ahold of me.

Well since we're about a week away from heading down, anyone have a set time of departure? My truck is going to the body shop for a new hood and wiper cowl on Monday and should be able to pick it up Thursday morning. I'm debating driving down Thursday and detailing all day at my buddy's place. Not sure if I can work that out or not, so I will probably be leaving Friday. Would like to meet up with some of you on the way down if it works out. As you can see, I have nothing set in stone yet... :jester:

I will be on the road in NH at 7AM. It is an 8 hour ride for me from here to Carlisle putting me there around 3 or 4 depending on traffic. Not sure when exactly I would be hitting 81 but that is my plan and it is pretty set in stone. Just picked my truck up from the paint shop this morning and she looks great.

Hey Chris, any idea what time you would be getting on 81 in PA? Not sure if you noticed how look it took you to get to that point when you went down for the GM show? It's not a big deal if we don't meet up on the way down. As it is, I am staying with a friend about 30-40mi south of Carlisle.

Would you like to meet up at a stop right after you hop on 81 in PA? I am staying about 30-40 mins south of Carlisle, so I'm not sure I'll even stop at the fairgrounds on Friday. I need to get to his house and wash the truck and last minute detailing before the races (not taking my truck to the races...). It would probably be smart of me to stop on the way down to get checked in so I don't have to do it Saturday morning.

How was the construction on the way down last week?

Is anyone going to have a Snap On scanner with them at the hotel/fairgrounds? I've never checked my fuel sync and wouldn't mind checking it if there will be one there. Just thought I'd ask...

We can definitely meet up on 81. There is a petro truck stop at exit 178B in Scranton that would be a good spot to meet up at. There was some considerable construction on 81 but only 1 spot that backed up so it wasn't too bad. I will definitely be stopping at the fairgrounds on Friday so I don't have to check in on Saturday mornng. Less traffic on Friday versus Saturday.

Don't need to bring it just for me. Kind of an expensive piece and don't want to be a hassle with you needing to keep an eye on it all weekend. If you were going to bring it, fire out...but no sweat if you don't bring it.

I'm thinking about grabbing one on eBay... what personality key do we need for our trucks? Mine is a 99 if it matters for the key.
