Been trying to work out the bugs after some motor work on the RT, and today I got code 1297. Book says its a PCM reading volts on the MAP sensor. Cleared fault, came right back almost instantly. Also, with fault, I can't rev higher than about 3k rpms. Any ideas? Thinking my MAP sensor is gone south.

Not unplugged is it?

It wasn't at the time, is now.

P1297 says no MAP change from start to run. That means no vacuum seen by the sensor. It's either unplugged (electrically or vacuum), or it went bad. I don't think I've ever heard of people wasting sensors other than under extreme boost.

FALSE ALARM! Jesus, stupid of me. Went to AutoZone, paid $100 for new sensor, got home, and noticed a cap under the truck. Hmmm...picked it up, its a vacuum cap. Started looking at the Vacuum tree off the rear of the M1, sure as shit, ones unplug, which also the MAP sensor reads off of. Replaced cap, replaced old sensor, truck started AND ran perfect for 30 minutes (idling). And I can rev it all the way up. But, since I've sold the shaker, I'm waiting on my new breather to come in to drive it and see.

So, again sorry---false alarm on me.
