Just got my truck, from usaf r/t cool guy, drove 500+ miles home no problems. My brother takes it today to go do the exhaust on it, new cat and dumped super44, and allignment, he calls me up and says the shop wont touch the front end because the ball joints are bad, they need 1k to do the work... So he leaves and runs to a few more places and calls me and says the truck is making a constant humming noise, after bringing it back to the shop the guys say that the abs pump is on all the time.... so they unplug it, instead of pulling the fuse, so now he calls and says he has a check engine light, abs light, brake light..... So this weekend i get to change upper and lower ball joints, along with the tuneup i was going to do.. My question is what makes the abs pumps just go out?? It was making a slight noise on shut down i think, just for a couple seconds sounded like a fuel pump kinda. Does the r/ts have four wheel abs, i havnt looked yet?

ABS is standard rear wheels, optional for all four wheels.
The pump might run all the time if it can't build pressure, which would mean a new ABS pump. I suppose there could be other failures in the system to cause it as well. it's sort of a guess unless you can hook the proper scanner up to the ABS system for diagnostic codes.

if the BJs are shot i'd replace the outter tie rod ends also as bad BJs would also take them out, its not a hard job to do just a loud one. i dont have a clue about the abs

Thanks for the input, ill prob change those tie rod ends as well.. looks like im going junk yard hunting, i found a mopar parts site that has a pump and modulator for close to 800.00, thats insane. I also found a site that you send your old one in and they rebuild it for around 150.00. Im not to sure about that, i would rather try to rebuild it myself, how hard could it be? So im thinking that i can find one off a dakota, darango, maybe even full size ram?
