just depends....the city of Detroit is terrible...but outside of there you have some of the richest most comfortable suburbs in the country...

in the article, it says they use Unemployment, Crime, and stuff like that to rate the Miserability (is that a word?) of a city. said b/c of the auto industry slump, detroit got hit pretty hard. obviously unemployment and crime rate kind of go hand in hand.

That's like all the fools who were worried last year cuz they named St. Louis as the "Most Dangerous City" LOL We won't even be all that close.

First off, downtown D is NOT bad, its just certain areas are real bad, but nuthin new there.

I would say the sole reason for Detroit getting this title would be the recent job cut trend mainly in the auto industry and a lot of the others. Obviously the auto industry is our #1 employer here, so yeah, you get the idea... I see a chunk of the people in my office at Chrysler get laid off every week, shitty thing is, when its union guys, they always loose the best ones cause it has to do with seniority not quality of work... the lower you are on the pole, the harder you tend to work to keep your job!
