well some may know I popped my head gasket last month, so I yanked the motor for a minor rebuild. I wanted to check the bearings to c if they were good to go.
I am going to do a cam and heads:) The Cam will be 218/224 .528/.536 113 and the head will be EQ Magnums with 2.02's and heavy springs. Billet steel double roller chain. I will be using the felpro 1008 gaskets for the heads and the 1213's for the intake.
now if it would just warm up so i can go back to work!

Mid 2009 is what I am hoping. Darren will tell 2020, LOL! I am shooting for somtime in 2009 though. Hoping for a 8-71 blower out the hood with a 3" chop and shaved everything. Running Air Ride technology bags for a nice drop when needed. Mostly going to be a show queen, but she will see the track here and there. Will never be able to get traction anyway, so why chance damaging her.

Now now, I've clearly said 2012.....with a grace period of 2013 if Halo 4 comes out anywhere in that timeframe.:p

If he moves it to my garage and provides money, it might get done quicker. :)

Shows how much I paid attention I didn't even know you popped em! Gimme a shout if you need a hand going back together, I'm always available, plus the turbo plans are getting slowed down greatly by the body work needed after my nitrous mishap.
Should be bad when its all done! Good luck!

Well I got the cam in and degreed. I waiting on the heads should be here next week. I went with the EQ Magnums with 2.02/1.65 and .600 lift springs. Next step is to measure my pushrod length and call Smith Brothers. So 2-3 weeks My baby should be running again:burnout::rockwoot:

You'll probably find that the pushrods will need to be 7.05", that's what mine turned out to be with those heads.

so I got them in. I can use the 1.7s RR with my cam:rockwoot: .561 intake .569 exhaust now to find my exact pushrod length.
Do I pump up the lifters or do it dry? I had fill one lifter with oil to keep to from collapsing to check my piston to valve clearance. I drained it after words. I now about proper geometry but do i do it with the lifters pumped up?

:update: I got her fired up today( first try btw) I gotta set the fuel sync. Funny when I checked PR length it came out to be the same size that came with the Mopar 1.7's???? I know there not hardened I'll get the hardened one this week. Also it rev's fine(idle) but when I drive it it pops and spits. I'm guessing it has to with fuel sync???

Fuel sync should take care of the popping and spitting. Glad to hear you got her back together!

Also, might just take some time for the pcm to learn the new heads/cam setup.

Make sure you check your clearance with that much lift, might be pushing it with the stock pistons.

man i have the credit card in hand with a zero balance with a lil money in the bank its so tempting. As far as your cam and heads go you think it was a good choice for the money. Or do you think the nitrous is better because i am stuck dead in the middle with it being a daily driver. Nitrous = blown head gaskets or torched pistons & rings. Cam and heads = more $$$ and less mpg.

BryanRT360
03-07-2008, 01:38 AM
if ya got the money do the heads and cam. It gets expensive will all the parts/gaskets. I spent close to 2 grand doing the swap, but that includes special tools that i had to buy. (Degree kit, balancer puller, torque wrench, PR length checker)

o and as far as gas mileage, on the way to last years nats the truck with heads and cam got the best gas mileage??
