I know it has been ALMOST done for awhile....waiting on the other machine shop to get the main bracket done....it should be this week, I have bought a plethora of other shit for this kit already and i will start posting up some pics as i get them together....

I did however spend this week with the FLOW field service tech as he installed our brand new 60000psi water jet machine this week.....I have one more day of training left and I am done and ready to use it.

Here is a pic of what I did today (it is for the kit).....total cut time through a plate of 420 stainless .270 thick was 9 minutes with a .022" stream of water mix with a blasting garnett.....it is a SUPER impressive machine.....

Anyway here is what I did today all by myself :jester:

*edit* the blowoff is not my creation - just thought I would throw that in there for viewing pleasure, it will be included with every kit....

I'm sure with the ability to tune, this will be an awesome way to go.
Sounds like you'll be able to create some really cool shizzle with that puppy:woot:

Thanks for the compliments.....

I cant wait to start using the machine full time - it looks like I may finally be able to start a new career worth a shit (computers are old after 11 years) and FUCK GSM, that didnt work out worth a shit!

I guess a waterjet operator is getting 60-70K a year average pay from what the tech was saying - so if for whatever reason it doesnt work out at this job, although the owner is a very good life long friend, I will at least be able to go out and get something else with some experience on the machine.

Very Nice Todd !!

Thanks! - I know its not a turbo so you dont approve :finger:

LOL!

Actually if I had the $$$ I would have done a turbocharger, alas the custom fabrication OR purchasing a kit is too much $$$ for me.....

I love how seemless your kit is though :rockwoot:

So we will see how this ole vortech does on a street setup :)

:jester: Boost is boost Bro ! It's all good.:) I know Jess Dale made his li'l Vortech scream in his Gen2...
I'm looking forward to seeing your new kit. Have you determined prices yet?

The kit I have was $5395 (diy install), but that came with the A/W intercooler package included. I think that's pretty decent for the whole package. Of course, bottom end mods and some fuel mods were not included with that price, but some S/C kits don't include those mods as well.
Are you offering an I/C with your set up? Any fuel mods?

Basically I am shooting to offer the mounting kit at $999, that includes everything but a fuel setup and a head unit. The airhat I am including can be plumbed for aux injectors or someone could go the SCT route (I am leaving how well someone wants it tuned up to them and their budget). The head units I can supply brand new for around 1750 or people could scavenge mustang boards and get an 87-93 fox body head unit for half the price....the reason I chose a vortech is cause there is so many head unit options - the V1 S, V1 T, V2SQ, V7 YSi will all drop on this bracket setup.

So my thinking was that someone could be into a tuner kit for 2750 with all brand new parts and have it tuned with an SCT tune for just under 4000 - which is just about what a paxton tuner kit goes for before the SCT tune.....

And people can also do mine in stages - they can buy the mounting kit, then buy the head unit, then buy the tuning package.....its the only kit so to speak that will let you do things in phases, I know all the guys dont have the money to pony up at one time so I wanted to make something that was a little easier to bite off financially for people who needed that help.

Lastly I mainly did this kit for the guys who wanted a nice street setup with 8-9psi of boost......if people want big power this prolly isnt for them, I know Roy Evans is giving his YSi head unit all it can handle and making some serious #'s but he has a SERIOUS build behind that truck.....however the guys with a cam, heads, m1, tb, headers, exhaust who want boost, this will be a nice little setup for them

Todd,
I have a 3.125 pulley but I may use it. The pulleys I have are 2.85, 2.90 3.125 and 3.25. I can send the pulley but would need it back.

I have a Vortech V-1 S-Trim, It makes nice street setup. It will also move a Club Cab with the right setup. My best is 11.3## at 124mph at 8# of boost

Good info Todd...

I like your idea on doing it in steps. Makes it much easier to save up as you want to progress in boost further down the road. $4000 is a good deal.

I think you are on to something good.
Carry On !!

Thats ok Ken....I need one I can buy to keep - I found a stellar deal on a T trim which is the only reason I bought it - brand new in the box for 1500 couldnt pass it up.....

I need to find a pulley to slap on it permanently :)

If you decide to ditch the 3.125 let me know

Yeah I liked the idea and hopefully it makes it more of a realistic mod for some people :)

4000 is a good deal and more like 3250 if you can find a good deal on a head unit from someone else

We will see how warm of a reception the kit gets, hopefully we will have the power adders section of the site going strong :woot:

What drawing files does that waterjet use? If I sent you drawings and materials could you cut for me for a fee?

It uses DXF files....I then take the dxf and convert it to a machine file in FLOW path software that comes with the machine....

Depends what you are wanting made???

Header, 3 bolt exhaust, 5 bolt T3 turbine outlet, T3 turbine inlet, bov flanges in 3/8" I can make the drawing so it saves as much material as possible.

I was gonna use 304stainless, but am considering mild for ease of welding. I just got a 220v 140amp MIG with AR/CO2 today, and I've only welded mild in the past. I dunno if an airtight project is the best to try welding stainless on.

Ok well if you have some drawings I can load them into the FLOW cut software and get a time to cut and give you a price....

Ok thanks, I'll get in touch with you in a little bit. First priority is getting some things squared away with the welder. (needs some parts)
