Knocked out the truck loan early and with good timing for a gun show visit. Had my eye on a Kahr micro 9mm for a while but had read not so great reviews about their polymer Glock style models. They were "cheaper" than the full stainless models and oh so light but what's the point of a weapon if its not 100% reliable. Picked up an MK9 slightly used for only a few bucks more than the polymer frame. I have yet to shoot it but compared to the lightweight its supposed to be pretty tame. One clip has a finger extension and an extra round capacity to give it more control. Very smooth trigger. Fewer moving parts than the Glocks but I do regret selling my G23. Not light at 25 oz but easy to conceal. Picked up some new grips for the Kimber and got some coming for the Ruger.

You will like the Kahr, I have the K40 stainless. Little bigger, but I can still conceal it with my hand. So far it has been very reliable, never jammed regardless of what ammo I have put through it.

Oh crud, I didn't know you had one. I would have bombarded you with questions. Hopefully it turns out to be a good buy. The offset feed ramp is a little disconcerting but what can you do. Can't wait to fire it. Tomorrow :D

The ONLY thing I don't like about mine is it destroys the casing on the way out. Puts a real nice dent/cruch in it. Otherwise, I can group really well with it for as little I shoot it.

Well I shot it today and it definitely has some recoil for a 9mm but its not awful. The polymer version would suck to shoot for fun. The back edge of the grip tore up my hand but I can fix that with a little sanding. I had some cheap reloads and they failed to extract but I think the case was very soft. The Wolf brand I shot had no issues and they are about as cheap as ammo gets. There wasn't a whole lot of difference between the regular clip and the extended one with a pinky space for added grip. Decently accurate but practice is needed. Found a cool range that used to be a dive movie theater. Cinderblock walls for each stall going out about 15 feet. Felt a lot safer than the ones with the plastic walls. A shell from the Kimber went down my friend's blouse and left a mark on her chest, lol.

LOL, I hope you kissed it to make it better:biggthumpup:
Yeah, its a small gun, it will kick a tad more. I went shooting with a bunch of guys from work. Went to the airport the next day and got through security just fine. Wasn't until I was on the plane until I reached in one of the pockets on my backpack. Had 4 shell casings in it. Great monitors at security huh?

Several years ago (pre 9-11) my brother and I went to the Area 2 USPSA shooting match in Mesa. We drove down a couple of days before the match to visit with my sister, then my girlfriend flew in to Phoenix the second day of the match. We went straight from the range to the airport to pick up my girlfriend. While we were waiting for her plane we wanted to get some junk food, I think it was Cinnabuns or something similar and had to go through airport security to get there. I had a couple of empty shell casings in my pocket and the security guards are like "You can't take those in there!" ever the wiseass I said "What, you think I can reload them here?" I dumped them in the trash can and we went in on our merry way, both my brother and I carrying Spyderco Endura knives. No empty shell casings, but big ass folding knives.

I don't think her husband would approve lol.
Well that won't register on the metal detectors but you'd think the gun powder would be picked up by the scent things if they have em. I've had live rounds in my bag by accident before and no one spotted them. My carry on bag is my range bag. Need to change that since 3 guns plus 3 or 4 boxes of ammo is a bit much for a back pack. Need a small duffle with lots of pockets.

Hah, that's funny. I remember that, the good old days. I used to carry my endura everywhere until the clip took out my leather seats one too many times. Switched to smaller now. I feel lost without a blade of any type. When Kahr comes out with their P380 I will be wanting one as well. Glad I didn't get the poly 9, the 380 is as small as a Kel-Tec but actually works when you pull the trigger.

That's cool Nick. Nice collection. I wish my Mossberg was that size. I also bought an AR the other day. It should be here next week. I snagged "some" ammo recently too. LOL When did you get married crack head?? I showed Heather a picture of an AR rifle and she goes what are you going to do with a machine gun? I told her I already had one she's just never seen it, lol. What they don't know won't hurt em! :jester:

Prices are stupid high on .223, doubt it will go down either. $370 shipped for 1k. A few years back it was $200 or so. Its not even the same stuff they use in the Armed Forces so WTF? Made by the government's armory.
Congrats on getting married, I hope, lol. My D-day is in October. I bought an Olympic Arms (http://www.olyarms.com/index.php?page=shop.product_details&flypage=shop.flypage&product_id=48&category_id=7&manufacturer_id=0&option=com_virtuemart&Itemid=37), nothing fancy but its a target model. Still being built. I like my .22's, never have to worry about $. Even 9mm doubled in price. Sux.

Ok I swear, this is the last one I am buying for a long time. The mods for these things are never ending as well. Sniper style heavy bull barrel, fixed A2 stock, and flat top for optics. 2nd to top of the line Bushnell scope, but no red dot or illumination gadgets. The scope mount comes off with thumb screws in seconds and I'll prob snag some flip up sights for old fashioned shooting.

I'm a big fan of the full floater handguard but I would have to ditch the lonestar sto-grip for something more comfy (Tactical). DPMS makes some nice ARs for the money if you enjoy punching patterns in paper.

That is the Hogue grip. For $15 its hard to beat. I have their grips on all of my pistolas. They make a full float handguard that is rubber coated as well but I am on my best behavior not to modify it or spend money elsewhere. I will probably buy an adjustable stock, CAA makes one with an adj cheek rest. I still haven't gotten to shoot it! Grr, sux. No free time.
