Hey tell me what ya think, i already bought the paint to do the work but when i put the hood & grill i thought it looked kinda cool. kinda reminds me of the aar cuda flat blk look. i can take the red back and exchange it for flat BLK. or should i paint it red to match. or i'm open to suggestions.

My opinion, that just doesn't look good on vehicles anymore. Paint to match.

I personally think the only way it could be pulled off is if you painted the roof/ bed cover satin black. Plus it being lowered, with a silver pinstripe breaking up the red and black. That's alot of money to do, so I say just paint her all red.

thanks, yeah i was looking at it alot today and was leaning towards painting it all red. i think it would get old real fast for me. i plan on lowering a.s.a.p also putting the stock size or wider what ever i can fit on the stock rim, it had these tires on when i got it 60 series & tall. thanks again guys.

It looks good with the red/black but like that it looks incomplete.....if you painted the roof and A/B pillars to match it would look good IMO

Also those 60 series tires are killing you're gears. Ofcourse you're fuel mpg is alittle better lol. I run 255/55/17's all around on mine, but that tire has to be on a lowered truck. 275/55/17's are a tick wider.

If you do the right stuff to the rest of the truck, that could be a cool theme.

I like running nitto 275/50/17. They are reasonably priced and are right at the stock hieght but a little wider. Also my truck is lowered but not slammed.

DEFINITELY lose the 4x4 look and the HUGE tires. 275/50-17 tires all around and 2" drop it'll look great. Nice hood!

YEAH you would think these tires would help on gas but my info center says i'm getting 8.8 per mile. i had my buddy at his shop put it on hand held and it said i had a weak O2 sensor,he also said maybe the headers are effecting it. he wasn't sure. anybody had this problem ? i only drive it about 3/4 of a mile each day to get to my work truck so maybe that's not letting it get a true reading IDK.

Thanks. I had to switch hoods cause I didn't have enough clearance with my other one. This one has the bracing cut out of it and my air filter is maybe about an inch from touching the hood. Any taller and I'd have to get a prostock scoop LOL

Yup, she's pretty stout. R3 block, W5 heads, 262/270 cam, forged internals with custom JE pistons, custom built 1 7/8"-2" stainless headers, etc. 11.2:1 cr built to run on pump gas  Could handle a 400 shot or more, but I'll be starting with a 175 and probably stop at around 300.

I was hopeing that was the case cause i drive her pretty easy not that shes a killer or anything all stock except for headers & k&n dual exhaust. when i get done with my camaro i'm going to get a intake, some head work or after market heads & cam. nothing crazy but she needs more get up and go.

Since you already spending a pretty penny for that hood, do the looks first. Drop it and some new Nittos and you should be good to go with that engine!

How bout somethin like this? It's a lil two tone i guess but'll give it a nice finished look instead of just slappin a hood on!?

Much better! Maybe some engine call outs on the raised section? How about some old school hood pins.........

Hey dave what kind of hood is that and hows the quality. I'm thinking of switching to a tall cowl hood and running something like a k&n 14x4 with an extreme top.

It's a Reflexxions hood, same as the OP's, the one I have has just had the badge and groove shaved. Plenty of room in the cowl once you cut out the bracing.
