Out of the Haynes Repair manual it says:
P0139 Downstream oxygen sensor circuit ,slow response (left cylinder bank)
P0159 Downstream oxygen sensor circuit ,slow response (Right cylinder bank)
Then on here I found the codes that BTLFED R/T posted up:
P0139 (M) 1/2 O2 Sensor Slow Response Oxygen sensor response not as expected.
P0159 (M) 2/2 O2 Sensor Slow Response Oxygen sensor response slower than minimum required switching frequency.
To let you know I have a '01 (Catless)and the 2 front sensors are in the down pipes and the back 2 are tied to the frame. I ran all last summer with out codes and went on a little cruise today and get these.....
Anybody to care to explain??

Probably nothing to worry about Jeff; my cat free 98 & 99 throw O2 codes whenever they feel like it. The 98 can go quite a while, the 99 more often and seems to trip it if it sits at idle for a few minutes ....

I don't get why your rear two O2 sensors are tied up. Usually the furthest one away from the engine is tied up but the next furthest, before the main catalytic converter, is in the exhaust.

Thanks Rick...I wasn't too worried about them just wondered what they meant...Since I got everything redone down under when I got back from Mich. I've been waiting for the codes to pop up.

My '01 has 4 sensors:2 before pre-cats and 2 after pre-cats...The 2 after the pre-cats are tied off.

But didn't your '01 originally have 3 cats? The third o2 sensor being before the last cat? I'll admit I'm more knowledgeable on the 99s and 00s LOL

My 2¢ : I have a 99 CC , no cat, I pulled both back O2's out and tied to the frame, then it threw codes, so I put the one that was in the cat back in the pipe and no more codes, only the O2 farthest back is tied to the frame

Just My 2¢ I have a 99, with no cat, I tied both rear O2's to the frame and it threw codes so I put the O2 that was in the cat back in and no codes, only the last O2 is tied up,
