My truck has 106,000 miles and I'm starting to see some oil leaking from under the valve covers, is this common? Any tips to how I could resolve this problem without spending too much, it would really help me out.

Get some new valve cover gaskets. Pretty cheap, and an easy fix. Might look into getting some new grommets for the top of the valve covers as well.

Thats a relief, thanks for the info.
yeah thats not a big deal. you should also check to make sure the covers arent warped or dimpled in where the bolts go through. It needs be flat and even to make a nice seal.

felpro makes a nice set of valvecover gaskets. I think they are 30 dollars at napa and they are reusable. The job shouldn't take more than 1-2 hrs but make sure you clean the motor before cracking open the covers.

I have the Felpro's too... They have lasted for years. I keep using them over and over again.
Meh, I had the same problem, plus the truck was burning oil.. Came to find that both heads were cracked..

Not sure actually. I bought the truck with a warranty. The shop sent the heads out to get tested, then Chrysler sent new, bare heads to the shop. Pretty sure the springs, seats, and valves werent replaced. I at least hope they lapped the valves to seat well with the new heads..
