Ditch the wing, Stop hatin' on the bumper, and touch up the " body lines" of the lights with some IB and I love it

Taillights and wing look great! Attached are pictures of my '99 R/T at Topeka. Someone must have thought the wing was o.k. because it was voted Best Modified Club Cab.

Is that how it looked in Topeka? What did the modified catagory entail? I guess someone liked it.

First off... I wasn't really asking for opinion the rest of my truck. Right now it just sits in the garage. It's getting a freshpaint job in June, and at that time I will be adding a rollpan and getting a new Bed cover.

So why post it up it you don't want people's opinion? I think they look good. Might look better with the trim painted like another member said. Keep it up. New Paint? Does it have rough spots? Pictures look pretty clean.

I was just sharing pics of the clear tails on IB. Many people have been interested in these and have been emailing me to get pictures so I just posted em. The paint on my truck now is in good shape. Once I remove the side decals that were added, it will be faded underneath, so I'm just going to spray the truck with 2 or 3 coats of IB to cover up the scratches and ect. Won't cost me anything but paint cost and I think it will be worth it.

True, don't take everything people say to heart. I have a brother your age and I know how discouraging people can be, just shrug it off.

Yea dude, I'm 16. I wasn't dissing your truck at all. I was just stating my opinion, other than that I love these trucks and I like that color on it alot.

if i may so bold as to ask... where did you get those tail lights...... whats the cost....

and do they look decent on the black?

and to bring the wing up again...

i think it is a person's choice as to what they find sexy or good looking on their dakota r/t

i think an little truck as fun and as rare and original should be looked at with an open mind........

at least it isn't a tricked out ricer...... i don't mind the wing but the rool pan would finsh that truck up nice........... i am thinking about doing the ful rool pan on my truck!

Thanks! I purchased the lights off e-bay. There's a guy that sells some every once in awhile. I believe he still has 2 pairs listed right now. Only $78 shipped so not too bad off a deal really.

They are legal as long as the bulbs are red. I'm pretty sure that goes for all 50 states. I mean... Many cars come with stock clear taillights.

I had a set of the clear tails about 4 years ago. They're not DOT approved, therefore illegal in Washington State. I was pulled over and warned twice---verbally. The third time I was given a written warning and 72 hours to bring back to the WSP station showing they were removed. I sold them on ebay. I liked the clear tails, but Washington State is really anal about non-DOT headlights and tail lights! I'm going to candy the xtra set of stockers I have and call it good.

it doesnt andrew, they are not d.o.t approved. doesnt matter about the bulbs. maybe they are not as tough on those laws in your state.

Ohio Law doesn't say anything really about clear taillights or being DOT approved. Cops aren't a pain my area anyways. I'm not worried about it
