Looks like they're finally gonna open this track in April. It's 100% concrete!

We should all make plans to run here as often as possible, to show support for the place and help it get established. It's IHRA, which is fine by me. It's also a whole lot closer than Ennis and it's not corporate owned. Win/win.

Looks like there open 3 to 4 days a week. They must have deep pockets. Don't know if drag racing will pay off for them but if not , turn it into a private airstrip and build big buck houses on both sides. It's in a great location for that.

Man that looks like a top quality dragstrip. Hmmm might have to have a nice meet out there sometime.

Here is the rumor of how the track got started:
I have no idea if any of this info is accurate, but a fellow racer told me the following;

Supposedly, a big time local racer was winning a bunch of races at this track:
http://www.redlineraceway.com/

He was running a turbo car that was absolutely sick. Anyway, the next year, the track outlawed turbos in that class, pretty much to exclude him from winning everything again.
As the story goes, Mr. Turbo has some really deep pockets, so he decided to build his own track and essentially, put Redline out of business. He ran into all kinds of resistance from the local city he was building the track in and also, from the new housing development across the hwy. They have messed with him to the point of denying him connection to utilities. In any case, it's been a long hard road for them and I want to see this track become a success.
I am not fond of the Motorplex at all(the only other 1/4 mile in the area), because they really don't give a shit about anyone but the big shows. They don't prepare the track well at all for the street cars.
