I have Spintech headers with a B&M Megashifter. Just ty-rap the shifter cable as far away from the headers as possible. I also wrapped the cable with heat reflecting foil insulating blanket. No problems at all.

I ordered a 8' cable which gives me plenty of cable to re-rout away from the headers without putting anything in a bind or close to the headers..

I would say go for it. I would say you need a good inch or two from the headers to keep from melting it. Hows that upgrade with the heads and cam coming along.

Just use header wrap works fine. We did make a small shield to protect the starter though.

See my photo showing my Long tubes and the Red cable from my B&M shifter.

is that sifter cable hanging down as low as it looks?

its coming along, i just got the cam. 236/242 on a 108lsa. the eddys are almost done getting ported at a local shop, and i just got the jm longtubes in. thanks for the tip on getting them in with the heads off. it was pretty easy, but i still had to jack up the passenger side for clearance. what did you do with your fuel and evap lines?

Could you have gotten away with a shorter cable or was 8' just right?
