Well, She's going back together and everything is going smooth so far. We pulled the motor down for inspection and modified her to fit the Procharger F1R. The transfer case was and and front axel been removed and upgraded the tranny to a turbo 400. Dropped over 200 pounds by removing the transfer case. front axles and carrier, and a lighter tranny without over drive

Awesome Dave! Can't wait to see how that beast does with the F1R. You're bringing it to the Nats in August, right? Looking forward to seeing it run in person.

what are the specs on the motor? how much modification to fit the turbo 400

Heavy D

It's 416cu in R3, with Indy heads and a billet bottom end.(crank and rods)
So far the Tubo 400 fit right in with the ulta bell convertion,Waiting for the tanny linkage to show up to hook into the floor shifter and have to make a mount for the cross tie. You can see a block of wood holding the tailstock at the cross over. New fly wheel and torque converter. There no sensor in the starter fly wheel and we plan on tieing the timing crank trigger in with the eletromotive crank sensor. It's the little stuff now that can slow things up but so far so good. Oh and got to make a new drive shaft up too.

Nice to see you are still building the "World's Fastest Durango". Now quit changing shit and let's do some test and tune on the track! :drive:

Let me know if you are serious about Woodward in August, I may have to come up just to give you a hard time.:jester:

Later,
Clint

Clint you better get your ass up to the nationals. I just booked my room. Changing and fixing shit is the story of that Durango's life trying to go fast.

Yea Dave, Playing with the Dakotas will be the best fun of all. Next to the Woodward Street Cruise itself

Hell yeah, I can't wait for Woodward, I had a blast there in '06 and it rained half the day! It'll be nice to be there for a few days leading up to the cruise.

I just talked to Ryan today. The last two parts needed are on the way and my engine will be done and waiting for me when I get back from this next trip, then I can get started on dropping it in, getting custom headers/exhaust made and getting it tuned :woot:

I guess Dave will win the race, HA HA HA!!!!

Now we just need to see both Dave's vehicles go down the track, that would be an awesome thing to see.

Hell, it's been so long build this thing. I would like to see it go down the track and be able to drive it on the street

Thanks for all the kind word guys.

Just figured out I'm going to have to do something like Dunner did for his intercooler. The Dominator air hat is 5" tall and will not clear the hood. So it looks like a new intercooler is going to have to be built.

LOL That would be a fun race. My money is on Dave in the red truck  hehe

I think we're gonna have a lot of good match ups at the Nats this year, and a lot of fast truck! :woot:

Dave Threadjack...

Which do you think is better.... QTP's on rims or the M&H 325 on 17" R/T rims?

I am leaning towards the M&H at this point as I need something for this year.

P.S: Great to hear the motor is back in :woot:

IMHO you should try and go with the M&H 390's for your level of power. My 408/4.56's/100-shot combo spun pretty hard on the launch at the track with the 325/45-17's. Track prep wasn't the greatest that day, but I certainly didn't expect to cut 2.4 60's - my best launch was a 1.9 if I didn't spray out of the hole. The tires were a huge improvement on the street compared to 17" Kumho's/RSA's though.

I know that question is for the other Dave.
But I'm trying them now. Just haven't been able to get the truck down the track with full power and get the right air pressure set. If I can't get the 325 to hook I'm looking at the 390's. I know Dave said they worked great for him.

390's will need a wider rim though I would think 10" minimum.

Yes you will need something wider than the 17x9's... Keep an eye out on E-Bay plus the various Viper forums - I had my eyes on a pair of Purner 17x12's that were available for $350 shipped so I could use the M&H 390's, but a local guy offered me a set of 28x13.5x15 E/T Streets at a reasonable price so I picked up that set of Real Pro 6's that were for sale on Delphi. I dunno if the Purners are still available, I think the guy had them re-posted on Viper Alley or VCA after they didn't sell on E-Bay.

I'd go 11" for the 390's. You can get a set of stock R/T wheels widened to 11" and they will still fit, and hold the 390's. Dave's CCW's will hold the 390's easy, since they're 11.75", you can see how the 325 is stretched just a lil. Altho that might work in his favor, I know some of the 10.5 outlaw guys use 12" rims to stretch the tire for a better contact patch.

As for your question of QTPs vs. M&H's, if you can get the QTP's on a smaller rim, they'll probably work better, because you'll have more sidewall. The 17" M&H's are definitely sticky, but they're limited by the short sidewall. The 390's are 1.5" taller than the 325's, so you get a lil more sidewall and a bigger contact patch.

I'm in the same boat as Dave, I'm gonna see how my 325's work on the new setup and if they can't handle it, I'll get my wheels widened and step up to the 390's.

I'm still debating what to run on my Bogarts. My QTPs are dead, they served me well, but I'm thinking of trying an M&H full slick.

Nope, I sold both of my 03 R/T's to buy the Charger SRT-8.

The current truck is a 99. It has some unknown brand of slotted/drilled rotors up front, but out back it's still the factory drums.
