So I wanna see what everyone has for a power adder on your Truck or another one of your vehicles.

I will start with mine.. Its an S488 Turbo it can support 1600hp and will be getting bolted up to a 440 bb mopar bored .060 over making it a 452ci. I am running blow through E85 carb on the setup and a similar combo made 850hp @ 8psi.. This little beast is going into my 1968 Barracuda.. And I have a Garrett GT4202 74mm turbo on the way for the Dakota.. its gonna be a crazy summer

I enjoyed running my Paxton Novi2000 but it aint ever going to support 1,000 HP. I know they claim those figures but never going to happen. However i did enjoy the power it made :woot:

good luck with that, you just can't spin then fast enough without a cogged setup or some mods to the pulley/bracket system.

I hope to go with a turbo in the spring and Vader is getting the Paxton....at least that will give me something to do.

Let me know if you need a fabbed bracket Jon. I did get mine to finally hold 15lbs boost. The bracket I had made is going to its new buyer as part of the deal, but I can fab another one anytime as we have the CNC program for it. But they are pricey at $400.00

With all the work on my set-up I got it to 604 rwhp but that was it just no more to be had.

Thanks KJ, right now I'll hold off but I may change my mind closer to spring. The biggest factor will be the cost of the turbo manifolds. I have a guy that will make them but I need to get an estimate. It could be pricey.

Custom set. I think there is only 1 or 2. Steve sold them for a good chunk of change.

They're a one-off set made by Clint Hunter aka DRaven/DakRaven. I sold them awhile back, they've made their way back onto Clint's truck. I thought they were great lights, but I couldn't turn down the offer to let them go.

I've been on other forums for a while when there was a huge Paxton craze. I mentioned a couple of times that ATI or Vortech are they way to go as far as centrifugal S/C go. Paxton has no room for upgrades. Vortech and ATI can take a person much farther than 99.9% of people will go.

Now it seems like turbos are becoming the new craze. Natural forum progression but I am excited to see where some of these new setups take people.

How come you can only make 6 psi? Belt slip?

I hope to have the Barracuda on the road this year.. I am also moving the fire wall back 8 inches and the motor back 6 inches in order to make a little more room for all the turbo junk.. and for a little better weight distribution.

How fast are you spinning the blower? Do you have a manual tensioner?

How fast are you spinning the blower? Do you have a manual tensioner?

i havn;t figured out how fast im actully spinnning it.i have a 3.2" pulley on it. but if i stab the throttle/or go slowly, i can spin the belt almost instantly on the blower. i dont have a manual tensioner ive heard a lot of bad about them so i didn't put one on.i(heard that the belt can actually lift off the pulleys) was going to make my own but instead i added 2 other pulleys in one that gives my more belt wrap and the other one is used as a idler pulley to make belt selection easier.

Has this been a problem ever since you bought the kit? I can calculate blower speed for you if you'd like. Do you have a stock sized crank pulley?

danbap
01-22-2009, 11:19 PM
ever since i got the kit yes i bought the bracket used. that would be great and yes i have the stock crank pulley. my red line is 6500.

Gearhead24
01-23-2009, 05:51 PM
I went to measure my stock crank pulley I had laying around but couldn't find it. I think stock is around 7" so that would mean you are spinning it at 58,297 RPM and max speed for that blower is 62,000 RPM. I don't know what size pulley they send with the kit but I would be willing to bet that is a major contributor to some of your slip. The good part about you having a Procharger is you should be able to upgrade to an F-1 blower (without modification) and feed your engine more than it should ever want boost wise. lol

Actually the sky is the limit with Procharger blowers. I wish I would have just went with them instead of Paxton. If my estimated stock crank size is off, let me know and I will recalculate for you.

well my belt slips way before red line. i can have 0 psi if im driving normally and punch it , it will just slip., i dont think i ever need to go to an F-1 i think the D1SC will cut it for me. i think my tensioner is weak thus causing most of the problems. thanks for the info. im not sure what the stock size crank pulley is.

Rtspeeddemon

Stock crank size is 8" i believe.

Here is a Couple of Shots of my Powerdyne Supercharger on my 4x4....

This is good for about 70 HP on my V6, and a SCT Tune will probably unlock about another 10 HP or so........

This has been a reliable set up for almost 15,000 miles of street driving and the only thing I've had to do is swap the belt out every so often and Clean the Air Filter..
