Hey guys, I just wanted to quickly introduce myself to the site. I'm fairly new to the V8s (came from Import-land) and bought the Dakota already souped up a little over a year ago. Got a referral to check this site out, so here I am...

what all has been done to your truck.

In short, stroked to a 408 with shift kit and some tranny work and has the stock rear end...I have a list that the previous owner gave me with most of the engine parts but no specifics on the tranny.

The only thing that I can verify is that he said that it would beat an '02 Z06 Vette (stock) up to 140...and it did. :rockwoot:

Welcome!
Do you know anything about who owned your truck before you got it, or who built the motor?

I came from import land too. I have/had (broken) a '86.5 supra till one day I came across a R/T at a traffic light. He smoked my ass, so next day I bought my R/T ( Nov 01)

Welcome. Black truck with a krc motor? Have you ever taken it to the track?

Yeah the owner was a guy here in Topeka, his first name is Hal. I know that he worked at a body shop and that some of the work was done by guys that he worked with at the dealership. Most of the parts came from KRC and the machine work was done in Topeka.

My old car was a 92 Eagle Talon TSi (turbo FWD) that had minor mods done to it, but it beat most of the rice that the kids have around in Topeka. It would keep with with slightly modified GT mustangs, but everything else was too much for it. I did enjoy the handling on it though!

I have taken the truck to the track, but it was kinda cold out (April) and I was on street tires. I got a pretty good start but it had some trouble shifting and I got a 14 flat quarter. The guy that owned it before me said that his best time with slicks was 14.06. He told me that the only thing that he took off before selling it was pretensioner in the back (no idea what that is).

I've never heard of a pretensioner in the back....sounds painful.

So, you went 14.0, but that truck has gone 12.06? Not bad. A KRC motor that actually runs! :jester:
