I plan on putting a 4 link with coil overs on my 97 dakota CC. The reason for this is because the wheels I"m gonna run will not fit with the leaf springs. I'm just wondering if anybody has done this and if so can they offer any suggestions, pics, or measurements. I have seen one dakota like this a guy in Washington but I have not been able to get any feed back from him.:finger:

Ken Walker on here has a 4 link setup, I'm sure he'll chime in.
What size wheels are you planning on running that won't fit? You can fit a 13" wheel with the right backspacing.

I have a ladder bar and coil over setup. A 4 link will require you to back half your truck. If you need any info on ladder bars, let me know your ??

That's right, I knew you had a sweet setup, was thinking 4 link for some reason.

Thanks Dave, Still working on the Ladder Bar setup--getting closer to dialing it in. Had it setup pretty good, then bought Jess's ~4000 A1 converter. Now I'm back to square one. Jess gave me some things to work on---shock travel and spring rate. Getting the truck scaled soon and going to move some weight around.
Can't wait until spring and get my 1.4 or 1.5 60' time.
I still have my old 9.25 rear end laying around (Detroit Locker, 4:56 gears and all the brackets for Ladder Bars and Coilovers welded on) Can make someone a good deal on the whole setup. It would not work for you, you need to eliminate the C-clips. It would be perfect for someone in the 400 hp range.

I'm going to use a 19x13.5" wheel, It is the viper SRT wheel

You need to cut your frame out and install something like this:

Glen from the Delphi board put a 4 link on his R/T. He started out with air bags and a huge C notch and eventually wound up with coilovers.
Here are some links and a couple of small photos. Most of the links to Glen's photos are no longer working, but he does list the parts and vendors he used.

If all you want is to clear the wheels,, simple fix is to move your springs to the inside of the frame..This will diminish your cornering capacity but not your current straight line performance..Of Course a four link is a better straight line option but no better for cornering {has too much roll steer}..

Guys that is great. It helps so much to see some pics of others set ups. I'm still leaning in the direction of a 4 link with a pannard and coil overs with the c notch. I like the pic of the rear-end with the 4 link and coil overs. I'm hoping I end up with a product that clean I just hope I can make it and not have to pay out the rear for it.
Does any body know or familar with a guy named Jerry Rosane? He has a 2000 R/T with a 4 link set up like I'm looking at.

Wow, Seing pics of Glen's truck brings back some memories. The new owner "Beaver" has changed the setup a bit. It is now on 20" Chrome R/T's and has IB real flames painted on. Still a pretty sweet truck.
