ok just a feeler here. How many would want one? at this point I don't have any solid prices but I contacted the manufacturer and here is his reply:

If you have a hood we can make a mold off of it if not we have to design it.

Basic break down I would need 10 people min to even think about it. and thats 10 ready to put up half of the money up front to make one.

But it can be done.

they have black CF, silver Texallium, and red kevlar weave. you can view some of their work below. They are located in AZ, so if anyone might want to lend them a hood, reflexions cowl hood this might bring the design /overall cost down...

I would probably be in for one but I would have to see the price first. Is this completely cf or does it have a steel or fiberglass frame? Also if someone is going to lend a cowl hood can they make it without the dodge emblem?

There was a limited run of cf cowl hoods made a while back, they've been changing hands occasionally over the years. I don't think anyone is currently making a cf cowl for us.

I would be interested if it were a cowl induction carbon fiber hood but I can't do much until after March 1st.

I have a few questions.

1. what type of mounting (I would prefer stock hinges and with use of the factory latch)
2. Would it withstand daily driving
3. Would the price be less than $1000

1. if we can provide a hood, then I believe he would make the mounting for stock application, otherwise they would design it and then that would drive up the cost.

2.it will not be a race only type of hood, so yes.

3. at this point it's a feeler, in order to get them to invest into it, they need 10 COMMITTED. so I am unsure of the price right now, I do believe the more people, the lower the price. I can contact them and try to get a ballpark $$$ amount......

there is a company called NRG racing that makes them. They have smooth and one with just a little rise to it I think. Last I knew I could get them for around $700 including shipping. The shipping is just a guess and I can get discounts on some of there stuff. So if anyone looks and is interested I can get themn to do dropships on the hoods. They are made to order though and I think it was like a 6 week turn around.

Mike has one of the few Elite Customs hoods that were produced. Ryan Lounsbury had it on his (now my) truck, but Mike convinced him to sell it separately before I got the truck.

here is a little more info:

1. would the person providing the hood qualify for a discount and will that hood still be useable?
Yes we would supply a discount to the person that puts the whole deal togather

(for this one, I believe the person who puts up the hood should get the discount, especially if they put up a cowl hood, in which they will not get back...scott)

2. Using a hood as a template, will you make all the mounts using the factory hinges, grill, and latch?
Yes it will use all the factory mounting bolt etc...

2. Will the hood be durable for daily driving?
Yes it would but mind you all the cf that will see daily sun will eventually lose its shine (3to 4 years)

3. And last, is cost, I realize this may be difficult to provide but maybe a ball park amount for the 10 minimum. I am unsure of the cost of your silver tex, red weave, vs black CF but I assume the price would be different, possibly more?
Its hard to give a cost because of the hood shape. If the hood comes down over the front of the truck and includes the grill I would expect to sell a glass hood for around $600 to $700 and a complete CF hood for around a Grand I wont do one in Silver and it will be $400 more each for colored weaves because I have to special order the weave in 62" width for hoods
Also you wont get the hood back that we use to mold from...and are we going to have to design the cowl?

I'm sure it would be best if someone local to the shop in Phoenix offered a hood, but if push came to shove I could donate my stock hood & SRT-10 hood to get these made. However, since it sounds like the donated hoods will be damaged/destroyed in the process, I would at least need to get a freebie carbon fiber hood in exchange for my troubles. I would also need my replacement within a reasonable time frame (is 2-3 weeks even possible?), as it would knock my truck out of commission.

I wouldn't recommend using my SRT-10 hood "as-is" for the mold, because the fender gap is average at best. Since I can't use my OEM hood with my current engine setup, I could toss it into the mix as well, not sure if it would be easy to make a properly fitting hybrid from the two hoods.

as for the NRG hood it is no longer listed on the site and the pic.'s I had of it were on my old work computer. So I guess scratch that one.
