Ok so I need to decide where to put my gauges and I torn between below the cig lighter or up above the 2 center vents. This is a 2000 interior

I currently have 3 gauges on the pillar. Up top is fuel pressure, middle is boost/vacume and bottom is wideband a/f. Now I need to add engine oil pressure and engine oil temp. I can either put them up top or down below. This is not something I am goint to constantly need to monitor so it does not need to be in direct sight like the a/f. Here are some pics of the different options.

This is what it would look like up top

This is what it would look like down below. Also my meth injection controller will be mounted under the cig ligher all the way to the left next to my knee.

What do you guys think? In the furture the stock gauges will be all autometer and I will most likely need a larger tac with a shift light since its going to be a 6 speed

now theres also going to be a issue with the texture of the plastic. The bottom piece is textured while the top pieces is fairly smooth. I feel the the bottom piece would be out of place if its not textured.

another issue that comes up is that if I put two pods then when I decide to do all the dashes in the dash then I will have one extra pod open because the oil pressure will go back into the dash. This would give me the option of not needing the huge tac and putting a shif light gauge in place of the oil pressure gauge. If I decide to do this then I should probably put the two gauges up top so that the shift light will be flashing closer to my sight of view. This is the gauge im talking about

I have one of those shift lights. It's retarded and broken. Get one from http://www.raptorperformance.com/ and put it in the dash between the tach and speedo. I have one there for my TKO truck and it's perfect. Need to get one for the r/t too.

hmm got any pics. If I do this then what would I use the extra gauge hole for?

Since your doing a six speed,I would think down low would be out from a clearance and visability stand point.

Use your imagination on how it would look in a dak. Mine is in the same place.

Actually I don't think he was drinking at all that night. It was the morning after the Dave Downing incident. Rob and/or Damon were the only ones that weren't completely hammered that were sober enough to drive to the hospital with Dave. They were up all night and crashed the next morning after being up for 24+ hours.

does krc still make that plate that goes in place of the two center vents and holds 3 gauges?

Yep that would be the story, and now that is why Dave is just alittle bit special. :hail:. I think he is looking for a excuse to walk around wearing a helmet. Cause his truck never seems to be done. :-(

well I bought the plate from krc. I got the one that holds 3 gauges for 107 shipped. Its a raw aluminum finish that I will most likely paint black. In the end it was probably cheaper because the dash would have cost 100 plus shipping both ways and this one even holds one more gauge so the dash would have actually cost 150+shipping. Later on when I decide to do my stock gauges I just just put the vents back in.

if anybody wants to see it heres a link. Its in the photo at the top of Krc's homepage

Dave drank too much, fell down, and bumped his head at the 06 Nats.

I'd embed it, but the pic is huge: http://www.sincityrt.com/photos/drtc2006/DSC02962.JPG

Sean pretty much summed it up, drank too much, fell down in the parking lot and split my head open, woke up in intensive care with a BAC of .35 and three staples in the back of my head. But that didn't stop me, the next day I went on to win the bracket races

Then when I arrived at the St. Louis Nats the following year, they had bought a bike helmet for me, everyone signed it, and I wore it during the parking lot festivities, and it now hangs on the wall in my garage :)

Here's the pic that Sean linked. Every year we give out a Hard Luck award, usually to someone who breaks down in the course of the meet, but for me they changed it to the Hard Head award :D

i thought it would be a good idea if you got that shift light and put it inside the airvent, it would be hidden and be in the direction of your gauges and more where your looking out the windshield while driving...just a thought

I may have but I decided to buy the krc plate that replaces the two center vents. I could put it in the vent near the window but my I normally drive with my left arm and it would probably be in the way.
