I was putting on some headers the other day and sprayed some brake clean to remove pb blaster off a stud I had to weld a nut to. The manifold studs were being stubborn. Anyway, a few hours went by and I started the truck to check for exhaust leaks. It back fired out the exhaust about 3 times and a noise appears to be coming from the pass valve cover. I took the cover off and didn't see anything apparent but finally thought about the brake clean probably causing the backfire. (I unplugged computer for welding and thought somehow when I tried to start it while uplugged, that may have caused it) Got to thinking about it and doubt it.

It idles ok, haven't driven it, but that noise sounds awful. Can a backfire bend a pushrod and get a very loud metallic noise. Thanks for any help. Never come across this problem in a vehicle before.
