Ok so im not sure which camera to get between the Cannon SD 870 IS and the SD 1000

Cnet has good ratings on both but im not sure which one to get .. my rooommate has the SD 1000 and i know its a good camera but the SD 870 IS is a 8.0 megapixes compared to the 7.1 the SD 1000 is

So which one do you all think i should get? Im getting it for free really since Im using my spirt points that i have saved up ... basically a rewards program at work were you get sprit points for stuff and you can get whatver you want with them

here is a comparasent page if the link works from cnet

I've had the SD850IS for about a year. It's a great camera and very easy to use. Picture quality is fantastic. The SD870IS is an update to the 850 and is probably as good or better than mine. The 1000 has some plastic on the case, where the 850 & 870 case is all metal, but I don't think you would be disappointed with either camera.

Check out the following website and you can get a side by side comparison with sample photos.

http://dpreview.com/

and my favorite

http://dcresource.com/

The last one uses the same setup to do the sample photos for each camera.
very detailed on their reviews.

Looks like you can't go wrong with a Canon. LOL
Top 6 cameras are all Canon.
