you can go much wider than that.
My slicks are 12.5" wide, 10" tread width and 28" tall.
Why do you want 17" rims with slicks? With a 99' you can use a 15" rim to save on weight. Lots more options available in slicks too.

Widest slicks i've seen have been 13.5" wide.

they are 28" tall. Might want to go to a 26" if your just using them for the strip and with stock gears.

For strip and with stock 3.91 gears

Snow wouldn't be so fun.
With 4.56's...go with a 28" tire. I'll bring some up tonight when i get home from work.
4.56's plus daily driving is a blast! They made the truck quite a bit faster and a ton funner

If you go with the M&H DR's for your stock wheels, get the 325's. Their sizes run a lil on the skinny side, so the 325's fit a stock R/T rim perfectly.
