Whats up with Registeration?

My girlfriend's son, which is 19 has tried to sign up for this forum 2 times. His screen name is Supaman86. He has tried two different e-mail addresses. So whats the deal? I know he owns a supra and all, and hope whoever is the admin is that he isn't denying him on that. Heck we are getting hit with porn spam on this site alot lately. He works on my R/T with me, and goes to the track with me. Heck he might even wan't a R/T some day soon. Just alittle info would be great guys. Thank you. Dan

I just checked all the banned members. That name isn't in there.
In alphabetical order, names go from StevenCM - SvetLAnkA. No su present.

Ok... just found two user names. He hasn't been banned.

He's not in the member list on the site. He is listed as a member in the moderator site.

He never got the activation e-mail, and it lets him log in but the messege I am pasting below is what he is getting.

SupaMan86, you do not have permission to access this page. This could be due to one of several reasons:

Your user account may not have sufficient privileges to access this page. Are you trying to edit someone else's post, access administrative features or some other privileged system?
If you are trying to post, the administrator may have disabled your account, or it may be awaiting activation.

This is a separate issue from what's in the registration restrictions announcement. In that case, specific e-mail addresses that were being used over and over by the spammers were banned - people couldn't register at all if they used those domains. For the most part the e-mail addresses I blocked are overseas and not used very often. The one exception is gmail.com - a LOT of spammers were coming from there, that's why we posted the announcement.

In this particular case, your son did register with the system, but never acknowledged his registration e-mail. The most likely culprit is spam filters - since this website sends out a lot of e-mails per day and they're generic in nature, some e-mail providers will automatically flag them as "spam" and dump them into their junk/spam filter. If people don't sift through their junk mail folder, then they can't activate the account.

I manually activated your son's account, he should be able to login normally from now on.

Hey thanks alot for fixing that guys! The weird thing is i never got any emails even in my spam, I turned off all of my spam filters when i tryed it this time and still didnt get an email. Thanks anyways tho lots of good stuff i like to browse this site for! Even if i dont own a dakota ive learned alot from dan and his truck. :biggthumpup:
