Who has experience using throttle body spacers on a 360 magnum? I've been told by a few guys that they gained nothing. Anyone?? What sort of gains should a person expect on a stock 1999 360 magnum, only change being straightpiped and throttle body spacer to start with. What are other good bang for the buck mods. ie: performance chip, headers, larger throttle body, etc. Any input would be appreciated.

I heard they are fairly effective wheel chocks, but that's about it.

So is there any particular reason they don't seem to do anything on a magnum. What are good external mods to start with, I really don't plan on doing anything to this engine internally except maybe cam swap in the future. I have a 410 in an older 4x4 that I play with.

I've also heard a regular old air cleaner does wonders on these engines ?????

TB spacers are junk on a EFI motor.
If you plan on doing a cam...You better be prepared to do...
Springs
Rockers
Pushrods
The list goes on.

Okay thats why.
As far as the cam it wouldn't be a big cam anyways. More of a torque cam. I was looking at a couple in the 210 @ .050 dur. and .460 ish lift.

They help some on carbs and throttle body injection, direct port fuel injection systems where fuel is sprayed in the intake runner right before entering the cyl head.

duhhh. I guess all I had to do was look at my engine and see that the fuel is being injected into the runners so yes a spacer would have no effect as the air /fuel mixture is after the fact. I guess the little good a spacer might do would be that it may improve air velocity coming through. all I was really hoping for was some possible torque and fuel economy.

It won't even do that..... cause of the design of the intake runners, and increase in velocity or any "swirling" effect will be lost by the time it gets to the cylinder
