i think we're gonna be stronger than ever this year. MAYBE Kris Burl and Damon will have theirs ready. for those that don't know, Kris has been working on a TT 408 R3 shooting for over 1000hp. and Damon a healthy 850hp+ blown 408. Dave Lyons with his beefy stroker. Dunn and his stroker. we all know Kennys' is a monster. Antares Pronk should be back in the scene pretty soon. i'm gonna recam mine and get the bottle dialed in come spring time. and Rick Adams has a heathy beast as well. Kevin and his stroker monster. can't think of anyone else at this point.

not dissin you buddy cause we all know your gonna be a force to recon with :D

Yeah, I have lost track of the last time I drove it or did anyhting with it. Been way busy lately now that I am no longer in concept cars, this production crap is time consuming!

It should be ready for this, as soon as I heard were comin back home, I kinda realized there is no way I am allowed to not have it running. There is a LOT to do, the engine is all together, but I dont have the blower setup or anything like that, the chassis is in peices, and it doesnt even have brakes or a rear end or wheels that will fit yet.

i just got off the phone with Rick Adams. he's gonna get the ball rolling on a Cruise To Hell after our drag racing at Milan. there is an icecream shoppe right in Hell that has a huge lot behind it for all of us. and they can get catering in there for dinner after the track. then after dinner we can hit up Woodward for cruiseing.

technically the Woodward Dream Cruise is a single day event. but let me tell you all this...... there will be people out there cruising ALL week long. and as the days get closer to the actual cruise the buisier it gets. Thurs & Fri nights are pretty insaine.

like Dave Downing said before, this is the worlds larges single day car event. but it truely starts the weekend before and goes all week long.

I like the theme idea, definatly something along those lines... maybe Welcome back to the Motor City or somethin? I remember the first one very well, and a lot will be similar, same track, same place for SnS (Walter P. Chrysler Museum) and hopefully a fun cruize to hell from Milan Dragway.

The big bonus this year is the fact that we will be doin this thing the days just before the SINGLE LARGEST ONE DAY CAR SHOW IN THE WORLD, WOODWARD DREAM CRUISE!!!

I am gonna work on getting the show and shine at the WPC museum which is in the parking lot of Chrysler Tech Center and HQ. I am gonna try to get in touch with my concept car people and see if we can get some good ones to park up on the museum patio like we did the first year. If anyone is interested, I will try to scrounge up the original people that worked on the Dakota R/T from Jeep/Truck engineering since I happen to be workin there now.

Maybe I can even get some vehicles for a little "ride and drive" expereince, maybe the new Chalenger, Ram, etc. Any suggestions for that, I will see what I can do.

Everyone,
For the show and shine this year lets bring some games to play to help keep people entertained during the event.
I will make a piston toss game, cornhole game (no sick jokes), and another game.

I think I would like to see maybe 2-3 more games.
Thanks

Piston toss eh? I think the Michigan clan can get enough pistons together from old versions of their motors to support the entire club!

If I end up going, there's a good chance I won't have my truck there. :( Can't afford to take two vehicles with gas the way it is and not going to leave my family home. Wonder how a '05 Town and Country would do on the drag strip. :D

Well, Kenny didn't get booted from Gateway last year. And it is a VERY strict track. I don't think they even warned him. Usually a track will warn you first not to do it again, unless you come out and bust deep into the 10s, then you got a problem.

Milan has gotten pretty strict since they got their IHRA certs... Its still a toss up, sometimes we can get away without a big hastle. We have some inside contacts, so we may be OK. Since its IHRA, 11.49 is cage rules.

My truck has been officialy banned from that track (even after not showing up for a year or so, they still wont let me run) untill I get a cage.

Think he just wanted a new helment..

current rules on NHRA web site

Do I need a helmet, and if so, what kind?
A helmet is required for the driver of any car or truck running 13.99 seconds or quicker in the quarter mile, and for the rider of any motorcycle. Most drivers can use a helmet meeting SNELL K98, M2000, SA2000, M2005, or SA2005 specifications. Professional category and some alcohol burning vehicles require an SA rated helmet. It is important to note that the helmet rating must be designated on a tag INSIDE the helmet, or sewn to one of the helmet straps. The designation stenciled on the exterior of the helmet is insufficient for NHRA technical inspection. Also, some tracks require a helmet on ALL drivers, so check in advance.

Yeah, I'm slowly workin' the kinks outta mine...might sink a good portion of my tax return into it to see about getting it done and putting the belt back on. Ignition box took a shit a year and a half ago and also pretty much fragged the factory regulator...so I've got lower fuel pressure to begin with, and it drops when I hit the throttle. So, belt has been off until I get those resolved. Kind of a good thing though, gives me a chance to throw some freshened up heads on and get the H.U. freshened up at Paxton (among a few other things).

OK, WP Chrysler Museum is booked for the Show N Shine, free of charge!

$3.00 gets you a guided tour (group rate) and free if you got a Chrysler badge or retired.

I am working on getting the concept cars, if I go through the museum, they have a cost associated with the transport, gotta get those numbers still and see if its worth it.

I am also hopeing to get some SRT8's for some ride and drives, hopin for Chalengers... Got the VP of that division's contact info, now just gotta call.

Also, would there be enough interest for a porto-dyno at the track and the SnS? I am working on finding a good hookup for that too. Need to know how many people would wanna use it though I think.

to my knowlwdge you don't have to be a member to attend. there will be a way for non-members to register.

BTLFED R/T
02-03-2008, 08:12 PM
Yes, non-members/non-R/T owners are able to attend. They can compete just like the owners, and have seperate awards for them as well. The thing we did differently this year than last year was, make an extra drag racing class for non-R/Ts. That class was for non-R/Ts, and members who didn't bring their R/T and wanted to compete. It made it alot easier, and no one complained about getting put out of the brackets by something other than an R/T.

We're shooting for as low as possible in the entry fees, last year was $180, and it won't come near that price this year. No real info yet, so we cannot give you anything more.

No sir. The meet fees cover all of the events, and usually a lunch or 2. Only thing extra you may/may not purchase, are shirts and raffle tickets for a few BIG items. And then we'll have the giveaways as well.

The Woodward Dream cruise has nothing to do with the club, it was just a cool thing to do the meet around for people who've never been. The business lot we park in usually brings in a caterer, and it was $10 bux basically to park there, and get a very nice lunch.

Arrive tuesday, leaving Saturday. Woodward just isn't that big of a deal for me really. From what's been posted, they do quite a bit of cruising leading up to Saturday anyways.

Wow bro, I think you got it alllll wrong about woodward. The cars are out like crazy the week before, but just here and there, not a HUGE cruise or anything, just a bunch of random cars out havin some fun. The BIG event is the day of the dream cruise, millions of cars man, MILLIONS!!!! There is no comparrison btwn the days leading up to the cruise and the cruise itself. The days before are fun, but not even close to the big day as far as CRAZY BADASS goes.

Sweet Ill bring my dad I bet that he will have flash backs from working there so long.
He watched my truck come all the way down the line out of paint.

The group rate is $89; tell them you are with the DRTC to get it. I'm sure taxes will bump it up some but should not total $650! I believe you can cancel up until the actual date but ask to make sure ; they will not charge your card before your stay......

For more information on the WDC, check out their website:

http://www.woodwarddreamcruise.com/

You guys seriously have a spot on woodward, you know how hard that is to come by. People put in for spots at least a year in advance.

And i will warn you, if you guys plan on cruising, i suggest you pick a couple mile stretch and stick to it. cuz around bloomfield hills and where Chrysler has its vehicles, gets crowded like no other. Last year it took me about 2hrs to cover around a 5mile stretch heading south, i gave up so im going to find me a back route to take when things get backed up

How do you like it, I'm thinking of trading my diesel ram for one.

Aside from the fact that i dont have heated seats or a trailer hitch, I like it. The v8 def has more then enough power, although gas mileage could be a bit better, i drive mine 18miles from my house to work and speeds range from 45-70 and i get roughly 15mpg, i can get up to 18mpg if im doing steady highway driving, but note, i have less then 2k on my motor so its not really broken in. I have already crashed it though and its pretty durable. Ride quality is nice, the alpine system is really good for a stocker, and IMO its better then the bose and infinity packages that come in some cars. It now has automatic headlights which the 05-07 didnt have, it has a multi positional tailgate which is nice if you haul shit. removable cup holders in the center console to make some more storage room. They now include a fold up basket that sits under the back seats(this was an option on the previous model.

I have the 2 tone interior leather, with the alpine system, 6 cd changer, satellite radio and all the other little toys, except for the Navi system, heated seats, trailer hitch, sun roof and side steps. Not that i need that stuff but.......

But other then that, i like it, its a big step up over my previous 06. I do plan on putting some mods on it to try and help get me some more MPG's but cuz its a lease i can only do so much

idk if you can view it but here is my thread with my truck pics before and after the accident
