View Full Version : My Shock exploded?

I was replacing my springs and shocks for the front and when I took off the bolts for the shock, it shot out and came apart. There was just the tube and the shaft left and fluid going everywhere. Any thoughts?

You forgot to hold the top of the shock bolt when you loosened the nut so you just unscrewed the piston??????

The first time I ever changed a shock....back in 97 i think ......I did the same thing!:jester:

Yup, that would do it. Haha, thought that might of been it, but I did not think it would do that.

In the future, loosen the top shock bolt with the truck still on the ground. It'll help to eliminate this issues. Been there and done that too.

I was actually was putting on some blistens on to replace my stock ones.
