Damn! That's nice work man! Looks amazing! Similar to a Checkmate fiberglass cover in style.

1800 is a bit steep. Looks great but material is around $400 plus my time haha

Seabee
10-12-2015, 05:21 AM
Thanks for all the good compliments.Yes similar to the checkmate, but way better built. I have way more in material with weather striping, shocks, brackets, and the way it is built with the frame and ribbing. trust me its way worth every penny!

$1800 before shipping, before paint? Ouch. That means I'm looking at a minimum of $2500 to get it to me, and painted? You MIGHT sell 1.

Adobedude
10-12-2015, 11:21 PM
Ouch! Worth more than the trucks :jester:

Yeah the price is steep, but at least it's another option for our trucks.

Sorry! I meant to say I hope that's the price after paint I am waiting for pricing back on painting! And also the biggest thing I think you all may be forgetting is that it is all aluminum. and that I will be trying to get the price point lower but every biz has to start somewhere. And it really is a lot of work into one. hope I sell a lot so the price to buy in bulk is better.

I am also trying to find better shipping. The drop freight is going to save me I think.

You ought to consider adding an "innovations" style spoiler on it. May perk up sales.

Seabee
10-13-2015, 12:19 AM
I will definitely do that!

I think the weld together kit is a really good idea. You can cut the framing and all the pieces, get the shocks, just not the sheet of aluminum for the top. That way shipping would be cheaper, and that way someone can weld it together them self, or source it out locally. cheaper initial price and less shipping should make them sell quick. Just offer no warranty what so ever on a tonneu kit because it not being built in house.

That's a good idea, except mine are not welded. I wanted to make them so, if it got dented or bent you could just swap a new piece. I feel that this product is way cool. I wish everybody lived by me so you all could see my Picasso.:r/t smile:

This is a really really good idea man, I'm very impressed. If you came up with a kit, I think you'd be set.
