ok so i just bought my rt a little while ago a month oor so
and they said it was chipped (they didnt know what kind or anything owner beforethem did it)
so im starting to wonder if this "chip" is causing the troubles i am having
its like my truck wont shift out of first gear it will rev all the way up to 6000 and the only way it will shift is i have to let my foot off the pedal
so im not sure if this is my transmission or normal for the truck
i also know there is no speed limiter as i have gone pretty fast lets say:drive:
and after doing some research i found that these are the effects of a mopar pcm or chip:
More fuel
More spark
Raised rev limiter (6k, but don't spin it that high with the stock valvetrain)
No speed limiter
Raised shift points (roughly 5200rpm)
No AC cluttch at WOT
soo anyone have any ideas please help me out
thanks :)

It just sounds like the TV cable needs a minor adjustment.

How hard is that to do? What does it consist of and what tools do I need?

When it revs that high, are you flooring it or just everyday driving?
I have a Mopar PCM and it does the same thing. Revs too high when I floor it. I have to let off for it to shift. When it hits 6k, it just starts sputtering.

Real easy. No tools required.

Ya if I drive normal it will shift fine, if I pin it won't shift, so perhaps I have a mopar PCM? Is there some how I can tell?

If it's revving to 6,000 rpm and not hitting the rev-limiter, then it's most likely got the Mopar PCM or has been modified with an aftermarket flash.

What year/cab/color truck do you have?

You actually have a transmission problem if it won't shift 1-2 at w.o.t.

Why are they the best? And is there a part number that it will have on the Computer or something that I can tell?

I had that problem with one of my newer SCT tunes but Sean wasn't aware I had Transgo. I had to let off gas too.

i am having the exact same problem, and i was actually coming on to post for it when i saw this thread. i have a black '01 cc, and it won't shift out of first when i floor it, it just revs like it's hitting a limitter. and then i have to let off the gas. my truck is also new to me, and also chipped. it is a jet chip, but that is all i know. it seems to me that if three of us have chipped trucks having the exact same problem it's probably some kind of chip problem? please somebody help us?!!?

So did you guys come to a solution? I have searched all google and everything! Everybody starting those threads but everybody just says mess with the TV cable... I have this problem now and would love to get some help. My tranny was rebuild 2 years ago! And it shifts very nice when im driving normal, when i WOT it goes to rev limit and as soon as i step of the gas it shifts.. Do we have someone out there that solved this problem? I mean those threads are 10-15 years old someone must have some answers? :D

Holy Thread Resurrection Batman!!

Governor Pressure Solenoid. Or TV cable. Everyone responds that way in these old threads because thats what it is 90 percent of the time.

The solution is a manual transmission... :jester:
