Anyone have one of these things?

I've been wanting one for a while, and finally just ordered one for myself. I got it from amazon, here is the one I picked. I hope it's a goodie.

I'm going on a little road trip to PA this weekend hence the impulse buy. I'll grab some snapshots as a review and post 'em here.

I think they're a great idea, I've been sued before for an accident that wasn't my fault which was NOT fun. Even though the case was eventually dismissed at no fault to me, it was a huge PITA that dragged on forever. I'm hoping this little guy will help in the unfortunate situations if they do occur. $65 is cheap insurance.

Yes. I run two. One in the RT and one in my ram. I would much rather be safe then sorry if something were to happen. I ended up purchasing two of these http://www.memoryexpress.com/Products/MX49049 and have them wired into each vehicle with all cords hiding.

well, I said I'd post a review of the camera I got after trying it out over the weekend. All I can say is it proved itself worthy in its first few minutes of use. No joke, I drove to town and parked on a side street while I ran into a store real quick before leaving on my road trip to PA Saturday. I was gone no longer than 15 mins. and I come back to find my mirror like this:

http://i38.photobucket.com/albums/e104/TPX419J/DAKOTA%20RT/IMAG6694_zpsdb47c3ba.jpg (http://s38.photobucket.com/user/TPX419J/media/DAKOTA%20RT/IMAG6694_zpsdb47c3ba.jpg.html)

I had the camera plugged into the accessory socket, so it was recording while I ran into the store. At first I thought somebody struck it longitudinally (parallel), but after reviewing the video it seems a work van exiting a driveway made too wide a left turn and clipped the mirror with the right front corner of his van. Pretty bizarre. Unfortunately the actual impact is off-screen, but he eventually pulls over and exits his vehicle to inspect the damage, and appears to leave a note though I never found one.

*the work van in the reflection of my window was not the offender.

And this is a clip of the dash camera in action. Note the that the resolution is degraded for the purposes of privacy as well as keeping the file size down. Also, time stamp is off by 12hrs. The full 1080p picture is awesome, and I easily make out the plate #.

I don't understand how something like this happens.
Luckily I managed to get the mirror fixed before my trip. I swapped it out for one of the old dumbo ear mirrors that originally came with the truck. So on another note, anybody have a spare "sport" mirror they're willing to part with so I don't have to drive around with mismatched "ears"? lol

I bought mine from CanadaDashCam. Cost me $100 and I run it all the time while I'm driving and parked anywhere. Saved my ass a bunch of times. Full 1080 video.

I know someone local to me who was stopped at a red light and the vehicle ahead of him reversed back into him and then took the blame for the accident. Insurance info was swapped and when my friend went into the police station to file the report the police told him that he rear ended the vehicle and it was his fault. Apparently the guy who hit him went to the station first and filed the claim that he got rear ended. Dash cam footage saved his ass and the other guys insurance shelled out to fix the vehicle. Insurance fraud at its best!!!

I can top that. Parked my Ram @ the mall a couple of weeks ago. Wasn't in there any longer than 45 minutes. Came out and my tonneau is gone !?!?! How the fuck do you steel something that big ? Jokes on them though. It was all old & cracked and needed replacing anyway. That and they left the mounting frame and the tilt cylinders on my truck. So, they can't even use the thing. Fucking dumbasses

This is the dash cam that you would want.

http://www.zetronix.com/Car-Cameras/c59/2K-HD-Wide-Angle-Nightvision-GPS-Car/Truck-DVR-Dash-Camera%28275%29/product_info.html?osCsid=0j6qi76t5vh01ncke3kpocbhb 1

Some of the guys that I work with have these in their big trucks, and they work awesome.
I have done some research and these are the best bar none, that I have found so far.
