Im close to the point of ripping my entire sound system out and giving it to the needy because its highly disappointing on a daily basis..

I have a alpine deck which was a huge mistake in buying, the flip out Dual deck i had before sounded twice as clear and could turn it almost all the way up, plus it looked badass.

speakers...up front 6.5" sony xplod junk that was on it when i bought the truck 6 years ago, they sound like blown tweeters from a car in mexico lol. Im looking for something with atleast a little volume in the mids and low mids as well as clear highs

as far as the back, i took the wires from the stock speakers and put them into 2 4way 6x9 kenwoods in there own boxes...not that bad for 90 bucks but they sounded a helluva lot better in my suburban, sounded like subs.

Anyways im not looking for a sub, ive been down that route and in a regular cab its just too annoying and no im not using my center console, why get rid of what little storage space you actually have in a freaking 2 seater

im just looking for some HIGH performance 6x9s for some good lows in the back and decent quality 6.5s up front. Not too worried about the head unit, ill find something

i heard infinity kappas were real bassy

Focul makes a good component set that I've been wanting to get. You get 120w 165A1 6.5" and 1" components up front with 2 way 120W 165CA1 6.5" for the rear and a 4 channel 400W (RMS) Focul amp for $565 shipped. I have never heard anything but good things about Focul. The best part about thit kit is all speakers fit in the factor locations with no modification.

JL C2s are beauty clear and super smooth.

I currently have an alpine deck, kicker ks650.2 components and 2 12s. Sounds great man! Upgrading doors to the JLs but I just suggest sonething good hahah fuck sony.

I've had focals for about 6 years now and love them.

I just put a complete set of Morels in my truck this summer and was amazed. I had never heard of them before, until a stereo shop here in Hamilton told me about them. They are made in Israel, they are a medium priced speaker, with extremely good performance. Because I have a club cab, I put 6.5 components in the doors and 6.5 coaxial in the rear. Their coax speakers were the first one I had ever seen with an external crossover. I purchased the Tempo series.

As I said, I was very impressed.
These can be purchased from E-Bay for a reasonable price.

Have you considered CustomAutoSound under seat 8" sub?
They sell the sub alone.. Just an option ..

I have the system that BKDemon mentioned, but it is in my 72 Cadillac Deville. I installed two of them so I have the amps with subs under each seat and the satellite speakers in each corner. It sounds great, but I gotta say I think they are made more for a vintage type of vehicle. I would be hard to find spots for those speakers.
Good luck
Matt

Sub is available for purchase as a stand alone. Change out the factory door components with a set of quality separates and should be a decent set up without a loss of cab-size-seating..
